What's your opinion of Bush's second term so far??
He did manage to cut 2.7 trillion in medicaid-medicare benefits, Iraq war is getting worse, military recruitment is down 42%..."what say you" as jerk-off says.

He is leaving no child's behind, alone, or farm animals.
He is having freedom on the run from the terrorists

5. I'm not too impressed
He's a dick and I hate him but he hasn't started any new wars in the last few months so I am pleasantly surprised. *knock on wood*

11. His stupidity and incompetence
continue to be given a complete pass by the media and his rock-solid core of disciples. By the time the majority wake up enough to make a difference, it will be too late, I fear.

7. I think he should have weekly primetime talks.
If his numbers tank like the last time maybe we could shorten his 2nd term.

10. More like weekly primate talks.
When he speaks even freepers hold their breath hoping he doesn't screw it too bad.

8. About what I expected.
Master of the 'Bait and Switch'... do you remember Bush making Social Security a bid deal during the campaign? No? How about Bankruptcy? No mention?

I KNEW his goals would be the stuff he hadn't mentioned, just like 2000.

(FWIW, I just bought a tee-shirt with this on it, and a bunch of matching stickers).

Edited to point out that shirt and stickers have cool red border that says "International Terrorist."

17. Seriously
It seems he is slogging on and IS spending political capital(most of it hype anyway) against equally slogging Democrats.

What I dread is that the Dem sloggers have NO idea that Bush will casually reach out for another bloody catalyst. Lord knows he has more dogs wagging tails and enabled terrorists and loose weapons and insecure American targets than ever and several indolent opportunities for aggression for oil.

What is not present is any visible wall, any REAL stoppage of the machine or the agenda. Some things look good in the verbal battles, but that is so much air and erasable paper compared to real power.

Lazy presumption that lame duck Bush cannot and will not spring forward over our dead bodies neglects the fact that he has incredible power and the unchallenged will to do terrible and illegal things. Appointing thugs like Bolton is a pattern of determined abuse. There are no cops.

As we take popgun shots at the "lame duck" I am sure they no more plan to just fizzle and fade than they did in 2004. They will find new ways to steal history while we are stuck in issue defenses.

18. Well, considering that my pet issue is the Supreme Court..
I'm relieved that John Paul Stevens is still alive and kickin'. If he can hold-on until we have enough firepower in the Senate (or a Dem in the White House), then I'll stay sane. If Rehnquist drops and is replaced with a right-winger, it'll be no real change and I'll stay relatively sane (while mourning such an opportunity to flip a seat on the court..)

The filibuster issue is what has me frightened. There are too many senators up in the air to really know how this is going to play-out..

:scared:
