Overlooked part of Downing Street Memo

I think another important part of the DS Memo is the line:

" There was little discussion in Washington of the aftermath after military action"

1. How COULD there have been? There were "no war plans" on his desk!
:sarcasm:

2. I seem to remember --
-- that there WAS a plan, but it was prepared by the Middle East desk in the State Department, and recommended normal, sensible preparations. But the * folks threw it in the garbage can. Said it wasn't what they wanted, or something.

Things would have been very different.

This was in the MSM, but not enough.

We must remember, until the war started, the majority of Americans were against going in without the UN. And all that time, the NY Times and other supposedly great papers were working really hard for the * . Still, Americans were NOT buying it. It changed as soon as we had boys over there fighting, of course.

3. Public support changed when Iraq 'fell' in a few weeks and the
statue came down. We WON!!
