"Fixed the facts" is getting seriously ignored...must initiate mass LTE
campaign.

Bush fixed the facts is the most solid impeachment / criminal indictment level material to have surfaced to date. That it is NOT getting 24/7 coverage by the news networks (it is not getting as much coverage as the 'runaway bride' or the Laura Bush comedy routine) is indicative of the level to which our news networks have sunk.

It is not enough to blog this to death. That was done to the extreme in the Gannon affair, and it never really got off the ground as far as the average person (not including liberal blog readers) was concerned.

I would suggest that one avenue that should be pursed with "fixed the facts" is letters to the editor to hardcopy paper newspapers. And letters to media outlets and representatives in congress.

At least the DNC made a major concerted effort to oust DeLay. They (the DNC and all elected Democrats) should make an even greater effort to push for impeachment of Bush. Even though it is futile with a Republican congress, it should be pursued to the fullest extent - with at least as much energy and persistence as was applied to the efforts to derail Clinton.

1. The Top Democrats are still silent. Remind them once more to speak up.

If we could get Kerry, Dean, Reid, Obama, Hillary, etc to stand front & center and talk about this memo and demand answers, it would get a hell of a lot more press.

It's clear that Wolf Blitzer, Brit Hume and Tweety are "not allowed" to report this- so the high profile DEMs need to go on TV or whatever forums they have and "report" it for them.

Call your Senators & Congressman and the DNC and demand they get our backs on this.

7. That group of people will never address this issue.
They are as culpable as anyone.

I don't believe Kerry, Reid, or Hillary had any illusions about Iraq's weapons capabilities when they voted for the IWR.

They knew what they were doing.

So if they push the memo issue, they look like hypocrites.

And if they don't, they aren't representing their constiuency very well.

Of course, that's because they weren't representing their constituency very well when they voted for the war.

10. Let them know that the base who donates $$$ & time KNOWS this.
I'm not convinved what you say is 100% true- but we can let them know they get no more $$$ or volunteer time until they come out on the right side of this.

2. Very good points...
Bush's lies are just shrugged off..

1,782 coalition deaths in Iraq is not as newsworthy to them as say.. the Whitewater (BOGUS) real estate story was..

3. my LTTE
Last week, an official document was released by the British government which details how both Tony Blair and George W. Bush agreed to invade Iraq in 2002, long before Congress was asked for authority. A top lawyer for the British government also comments that the war would be illegal. It most interestingly details discussion of how to "fix the facts" to get the public to support the invasion.

Led by Representative John Conyers Jr., over 90 members of the House of Representatives have submitted an open letter to President Bush and the White House to respond to several questions concerning the document. If a proper investigation were conducted in the House, it is almost certain that the President would be found guilty of impeachable offenses.

As a senior in high school, it worries me that the Bush Administration will not be held accountable for its actions. If they do not learn from their mistakes, they will certainly repeat them, and the military is stretched far too thinly. Scott Ritter, former chief UN weapons inspector, and Seymour Hersh, Pulitzer-Prize journalist, have said that a military campaign against Iran will begin in June of this year.

I hope to see (paper's name) covering this story as it develops.

i've been writing a lot of this type of letter this weekend. it feels GOOD. DO IT!

4. email the press, email your congressperson... ?
Over and over again we are doing this for each topic.
Do we think the Dems don't know, or the press just happened to miss this piece of news that nearly ruined Blair?

Don't we just need to go directly to the people? The Dems aren't responding because the press doesn't care. We need to become the new media.

5. Call some right-wing talk radio shows.
To get past the screener, say something like "I want to set the record straight about all them people who keep criticizing the president for bringing democracy to Iraq."

Then when you get on the air, say, "All those folks who said Bush lied about WMDs were right! The biggest newspapers in England are saying Bush knew there weren't any WMDs--and cooked up fake intelligence to fool the American people into supporting this war, but that's wrong! Somebody oughtta impeach that lying piece of scum." ;-)

11. Dont forget to ask Kerry, Dean, Reid & Hillary why they are silent as well
Because if they would speak out, the media would cover it more.

13. Did you see this thread:

A good idea for spreading the word. Hell, looks like we really do have to do EVERYTHING ourselves. This would be a good start. ALL OF THIS would be a good start.

I stayed on hold for about 15 minutes to the CNN comment line today waiting for a human being finally to pick up and take my call. But I finally got through. Also called Barbara Boxer's office (where they did indeed know about this). We all have to be just as persistent.
