May be the most telling line of the interview, but everything is good to read.

Is having Howard Dean in place as the chairman of the Democratic National Committee important to that work?

Admitting that there are some problems is the first step to recovery. I see Dean's chairmanship as a tacit acknowledgment that the party really needs to do some work. But, again, I think it's dangerous to look toward one person or a handful of people, whoever they are, to build a strong progressive movement.
