1. Blanche Lincoln unrepentently voted for Bush's Medicare Bill
Even after she was told how the figures were falsified by Bush's beancounters,
she said she's STILL vote for Bush's Medicare Bill. She also refused to join female Senators (which included GOP Senators Snowe and Collins) in supporting pro-choice. She's not for me, sorry.

I am not sure Warner would carry VA or pull in other blue/purple states. Is he a charismatic speaker? I heard he's also facing some trouble in his own state due to a feud with the only African-American Governor in the history of VA, L. Douglas Wilder.

Election reform is something Dean and the DNC better start beating the drum on, or else these conversations will be useless come 2008.

3. It's possible. But I think there may be other horses on the inside --
-- track, at least right now:

Iowa and New Hampshire, absent some dramatic alteration, will winnow out many contenders. As a very early prediction, I believe the Iowa caucuses will give Edwards first place, followed closely by Bayh, Clark and Feingold. Senator Clinton will finish fifth, limp into New Hampshire, and finish fifth there as well, behind Bayh, Edwards, Feingold and Clark.

Just a shot from half-court.

5. By the way I agree with your assessment as of right now...
Right now being the keyword. 3 years from now I see Warner comming out of nowhere and shocking the world. He has the record, he has the funds, he has the message. Sort of like Clinton in 1992. He swore he wasnt going to run. People doubted him and look at the result.

10. That's a strong point. And I wouldn't count Warner out, true.
A lot of Rethugs would be stupefied if the next president was a Democrat from VIRGINIA.

Go, Dems.

6. I'm thinking Clark will come in first in NH
He was third behind the two New Englanders the last time...

Just to expand on your prediction. :)

11. I could see it -- especially because the Lieberman campaign did not.
Last winter I think the Lieberman campaign believed Clark was not a threat and he had strong support in that closing week. It definitely took Joe Lieberman by surprise.

7. I wouldn't be at all shocked if you're absolutely right....
Except I don't think Hillary will run and I do think Kerry will. Just substitute Kerry for Clinton in your scenario (a weak 5th place finish) and I'm on board.

12. rowdyboy, you're right to catch me on failing to include Kerry in --
-- the mix. The Clinton vote and the Kerry vote are too hard for me to predict if they're both in the race. Even from half-court, I just can't even see the basket!

I will give them this: if neither runs, the Iowa caucuses will be the most enthralling caucus election in the party's history. If both run, it's going to be a bruiser.

14. Nice pic.
But not a winning ticket to bring the country together and advance liberal causes, imo.

That's nothing personal against Kerry or Clinton, I'm glad they are both in the senate working so hard for us.
