"Top 10 Gutsy Politicos/Moves of the Week Award"--if you like

Let's start giving credit where it's due. The Misoouri Senator who gave up his state-sponsored health insurance led me to this, but Harry Reid's pimp slap of Georgie AND KKKarl Rove had a lot to do with it too (I know many disagree, but it was a MASTERFUL strategic move--but you have to think like the opposition to see that. I'm glad most of us Dems DIDN'T see it that way!); as well as the 40 NON-Dems who walked out of the E. Waynesville Baptist Church in solidarity with their exiled Dem fellowship.

Guts like the above need some recognition, and it doesn't come from the media. Let's give the brave kudos when it's called for.

Whatcha think--and PLEASE, feel free to add any suggestions as to title/theme. This is off the top of my head (although it's been suggested before by many others, I don't think there has been a thread devoted exclusively to it yet. If there has, my bad) on an early Sunday morning, no less!

2. To Biden for pushing beyond Lugar

for the nsa requests. Way back when (80s) I was a Biden fan. But somewhere - shortly after he hit backlash for preventing the Bork nomination, he became a key wishywashy senator. Say strong things, but in the end - back down and compromise. His giving warning to Lugar, that the compromise on Bolton was predicated on the belief that the admin would comply with requests and release the info in question... was a gutsy move - esp given his often soft spine. Now I don't know I would push for an award this week, but if he holds strong on this and works to further delay the hearing, scheduled for this coming week - then he should be mentioned. I moan and gripe when he waivers... the least I can do is give him credit where it is due.

Just wonder though, if we could actaully come up with 10 Gutsy moves every week...just the cynic in me musing...never mind, lets go for it.
