to be where ever they go and have signs that say that... or God hates people that hate! These people are so in your face we need to get in theirs!

With all the fundies coming out of the woodwork, we need to get out there too!

and it seems like a valid and effective response.

One problem with the first sign is that it smears the whole Phelps family. Your first thought is probably that his whole family is a bunch of fundy wackos too, but I am thinking of the larger family. Phelps is an old New England name. They have been in this country since the 1630s and there are probably millions of people who have ancestors named Phelps (which probably makes them distant relatives of Fred). It is not right to smear a whole family because of one very bad person who has that name.

and I believe that if it is used in a specific counter protest of a Phelps event, there should be little fear of upsetting a person with the same surname, that does not share their hate.

5. Agreed- the best way to tackle Phelps is to vigorously challenge

his image of a hateful God, which is totally out of line with most Christian thinking.

you know..instead of god hates phelps...why not counter protest beside him, and alongside the xian conservatives with something like:

this is what theocracy will bring to the usa... and have a nice bunch of signs pointing toward his little clan...

or... signs that would state something like: Christan Conservative?..

10. I do believe

that they are mostly the originals and that the only new additions are bred. They are nothing, like an annoying fly to us and we have to look at them 3 times a day and at every single event in our city. They started going everywhere else because they eventually got no attention here.

The only time they get attention here is when they get involved in our government and then we have to fight them.

Most reasonable Christians belkieve in the loving, New Testament God, not the vengeful one in the Old Testament.

You want to get them all where it hurts--quote most any verse from the Book of Matthew.

The TheoCon wackos violate nearly every one of Jesus' teachings in Matthew.
