There is a number where you can report fraud. I did it regarding the filibuster. I don't have the number on hand right now but it is easily found at the IRS site.

5. I think all religions should have their tax exempt status revoked...
it's a mistake to target one church...I'm an atheist who in the past has visited churches where statements have been made supporting both repubs and democrats. What do you think is said in many black churches? They gin up the vote for our side just as much as the right does in it's holy roller congregations.

6. ginning up is bad enough BUT to exclude and deny membership due
to political beliefs is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY beyond the pale -- hit 'em everywhere it counts: in the pocketbook (IRS) AND in the courts (violation of Constitutional rights)

can you hear the tourism slogans??? welcome to NC, land of religious slavery (not so free) and home of the chickenhawks (not so brave)

8. It didn't violate constitutional rights but it DID violate tax
exempt rules. You can't use your tax exempt status as a church to promote any political stance or person. The tax exempt is supposed to be a help to organizations that do "charity" work not friggin political posturing.

tax status in the link below.

"Under the Internal Revenue Code, all IRC Section 501(c)(3) organizations, including churches and
religious organizations, are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or
intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public
office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written)
made by or on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office
clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violation of this prohibition may result
in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes."

Any church indirectly DOES accept Fed. funds because it does not pay taxes that non-exempt orgs. and citizens must pay, and members can deduct contributions to a church, bringing in more money to them and less money to the Fed. coffers, which you and I must pay more to make up for. Therefore, Fed. law applies to them.

One can't deduct contributions to organizations that engage in political activity. If this church does so, then it loses its 501 c 3 status and members get no deduction for their offerings.
