Bush really thinks he is God's gift to humanity
"Second-guessing Franklin D. Roosevelt, President Bush said Saturday the United States played a role in Europe's painful division after World War II - a decision that helped cause "one of the greatest wrongs of history" when the Soviet Union imposed its harsh rule across Central and Eastern Europe.

Bush said the lessons of the past will not be forgotten as the United States tries to spread freedom in the Middle East.

"We will not repeat the mistakes of other generations, appeasing or excusing tyranny, and sacrificing freedom in the vain pursuit of stability," the president said. "We have learned our lesson; no one's liberty is expendable. In the long run, our security and true stability depend on the freedom of others."

Bush singled out the 1945 Yalta agreement signed by Roosevelt in a speech opening a four-day trip focused on Monday's celebration in Moscow of the 60th anniversary of Nazi Germany's defeat."

Uggh. What a pompous jerk.

Does he truly want to try to change every regime he doesn't like??? If so, the man is dangerous and delusional.

He should also take a good look at what he's done in Iraq.

1. "We will not repeat the mistakes of the past"
Bush's remarks could not have been more clear. He accused FDR of selling out the Baltic states at Yalta.

When I heard the sound bite I started screaming at the television.

War is Peace. Love is Hate. Less is More.

Welcome to Amerika, 1984.

George Orwell, a nation turns its lonely eyes to you.

12. Everytime
he compares himself or brings up FDR and himself I want to scream. I used to think he was trying to be like Reagan but now it's clear who he's trying to be like. FDR. Fucking asshole.

15. I agree-- he's trying to be the great icon and standard bearer
of the republican party-- much like FDR is to the dems.

I just hope they don't repeal the 22nd amendment for him.

5. He's playing a "Hard sell" pitch to the world. He is both 'dangerous and
delusional'..'He' does wish to change everything 'he' doesn't like but the others for the most part represent countries whereas 'he' heads a regime..

7. Bush the anti-diplomat. And just before he meets with Putin, too.
What a complete ass. I mean, once, just ONCE, could he try to be diplomatic, for OUR sake? Although it is no longer the USSR & Stalin's long gone, *'s remarks are still a diss to today's Russia (as well as FDR & Churchill in WWII). And I am sure * will find plenty more shitty things to say in Moscow to try to detract from their celebration. I do like to watch Putin's face, though, when he has to be around Chimpy - you can almost hear his thoughts...

11. Dogging out Jesus
Jesus hung out with the marginalized, the outcasts, the social misfits, the hookers, the drug addicts, the cripples. DEFINITELY not shrub's kinda people.

13. "no one's liberty is expendable"-- but clearly many people's lives are!!
But I guess he could give a shit about thousands and thousands of people dying in his grand scheme of spreading liberty.

17. first of all
i like the wellstone pic, nice. Second, at this point complaining about bush isnt gonna do anything. We have to concentrate on congress, if we take control. He is stopped in his tracks. That should be our number one priority. and of course, how dare he even THINK about comparing himself to FDR, bush is a disgusting excuse for a human being.
