2. Aren't they
still clearing the streets in advance and instructing people not to look directly at him?

that's standard procedure for a Bush* visit....

What's the signifance of "Peace Duke"
Obviously it is meant sarcastically, just wondering what the history behind this phrase is.

6. I love the graphics but the words confuse me.
It must be an insider Latvian joke or some kind of Latvian sarcasm.
You gotta love those Latvians. Great posters and protestors.

8. Yeah, I know...I couldn't read it either...
...I just took great comfort in the fact that they included her in the protest.

9. She certainly deserves to be included.
BTW, that Latvian city looks beautiful. It is so cool that they, unlike us, are allowed to protest the Chimperor.

10. Apparently, 'Peace Duke' sounds like some kind of Russian swear
(Think Austin Powers names, like 'Ivana Tinkle'.)

And Maggie Thatcher called Gorbachev "Peace Duke" when he visited England in the '80's. That's the best I can come up with

Anyone who speaks Russian and is familiar with Russian idiom?

12. Yeah that's right
It sounds like a swear "pizdyuk", which means a tosser and a liar. Very nice posters indeed, pretty subtle as well. Made me chuckle.
