Any evidence that Cheney/Wolfy/Perle/Frist/Delay are really religious?
Edited on Fri May-06-05 03:08 AM by funflower

This biz of calling dems the "other faith" begs the question whether leading Reps are actually "faithful" or whether it's all just BS (personally, I'd guess it's just BS in most cases, probably including * himself).

For example, Reagan stroked the religious right like crazy but hardly ever went to church or displayed any other behavior that would suggest that he was personally religious.

1. Democrats are the "other faith" ...
... because the "faith" of Cheney is Republicanism.

Maybe Delay is religious in the more usual sense. Certainly not any of the others you mentioned.

2. What have they done that even remotely resembles anything that you were
taught in Sunday school before the religious right became a political party?

3. I think DeLay is a bonafide fundie nutjob
The rest of them are just squeezing the religious right for as much political juice as they can get.

5. No, but there's quite a bit of evidence that they
are cons, liars, cheats, and thieves.

6. they just play one on TV
after 9-11 the repugs wrapped themselves in the flag - if you didn't agree with them then you were unpatriotic

in the "new - improved" line of BS - they are "humbled" by the weight of the cross they are now lugging around - if you don't agree with them then you "hate Christians"

be it the flag or the bible or both -- the rhetoric is aimed at the emotions and touches people with warm fuzzies.

once again with feeling -- DEFINE THE TERMS - WHAT ARE THEIR VALUES, WHICH VERSION OF RELIGION DO THEY "SUPPORT", HOW DO THEIR ACTIONS SUPPORT VALUES OR RELIGION BEYOND SLINGING WARM FUZZY WORDS?

10. Cheney performed an infant sacrifice ritual
on the third night of the RNC, where he killed and drank the blood of an Iraqi newborn... you could count that as a religious observance, couldn't you?
