1. May I ask what prompted this to become your issue du jour?

6. It's close to passing and Reid expects the Democrats to support it.

9. It was stuck in the supplemental in conference.
so now the Democrats have the choice between not voting the supplemental or voting for it with the Real Id in it.

Of course, this was done in a Republican only meeting, as you can imagine.

3. Not exactly du jour
It's one of only two or three things that are on the menu.

It's like getting a river of liver and an ocean of fish every day. We want something else! We want something else! We want something else!

Ahem. I was gone for a minute. I'm back now.

O well at least we have the filibuster to protect us.

Um..no it just makes these things impossible to repeal.

Just another MINOR issue.

8. Government tracking isnt a good thing.
In the U.K. , they have these stupid ID cards that cost alot of money , are intrusive , and like all schemes like these they hurt civil libertys.

Listen to the interview with the Liberal Democratic party leader where there is a sharp exchange over this.

10. How is it a non-issue?
Edited on Tue May-03-05 04:38 PM by Mass
It should at least be an issue because it was stuck in the supplemental in a conference report without any discussion in the House or the Senate, and without Democrats invited in the meeting.

I am not sure what RealId is and how it defers from a Green Card, but the way it was done is very indicative of why we should oppose it.
