Republican Chairman Exerts Pressure on PBS, Alleging Biases
WASHINGTON, May 1 - The Republican chairman of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is aggressively pressing public television to correct what he and other conservatives consider liberal bias, prompting some public broadcasting leaders - including the chief executive of PBS - to object that his actions pose a threat to editorial independence.

You knew this was coming, now they're going after PBS, nothing is sacred, nothing will be spared, they will take no prisoners in their new Orwellian right-wing world they're ruthlessly driven to create.

Sesame Street is a liberal atheist homosexual conspiracy to force socialist/communist ideas of tolerance and cooperation into the minds of our young.

6. That's the truth
alright. Balanced programming means let the repukes spread their lies and message of hate. The truth is too much for them to bear.

11. They get to do that anyway.
I really don't get the point. Paul Gigot and Tucker Carlson are all over the media anyway. Why do they need PBS?

5. This revelation kind of scared me..
The fact that the repukes have their hooks in PBS and NPR. This was the one news organization that I could turn to for the FACTS. Now what? Are we really becoming as Orwellian as I think we are?

10. I guess we should make a liberal Democrat the President of Faux News
The hypocrisy is sickening. PBS is great, unbiased journalism. I guess because they tell the truth that makes them liberal.

12. It will come back around..
As naive and optimistic as this may be, I really think that most RATIONAL people won't stand for what's going on for very much longer. My argument for years to people has been "sooner or later they're going to get around to doing away with something that YOU like". Whether it's cigarettes, pornography, fatty foods, unbiased journalism, free speech, alcohol, or God forbid, the Bill of Rights, sooner or later they're going to reach the tipping point, the point at which the majority of Americans get sufficiently scared. There WILL be a backlash, perhaps much bigger than they can imagine.
