Can you imagine how many Republican Senators secretly DESPISE Bush and
will jump at the chance to stab him in the back - or the front for that matter.

Democrats not liking Bush is child's play to how some of these ego-driven guys feel.

If they smell blood in the water - they WILL attack.

And I do believe there is at least a trickle - and on a lame duck president at that!

1. That's a great thought.
Let the chimp be taken down by his own kind. They must be feeling the implosion of the gop is at hand.

2. If he continues to decrease in popularity and is seen as a
liability in the 2006 elections, oh yes, they'll turn on him and tear him apart.

the neocons. But there must be a certain self-loathing too, for those who sell their souls for profit and power. Lets face it, the REAL manipulators are the major 2oth C. dino industries that are desperately trying to hold onto power, and have many politicians of all stripes in their pockets.

6. I think the House is more of an issue
EVERYONE has to stand for re-election in the House next year; that's more than ten times the number of senators that have to.

There are some Republicans from mighty wobbly areas out there, and if the Dems can rent a spine somewhere, there can be some serious housecleaning. Dems have to call them haters of the poor, warmongers, polluters, torturers, liars, con men, thieves and lunatics; hit them on trade issues, destruction of unions, obstruction of justice and religious witch hunting. There's plenty of anger out there; hell, just talking about the record and obscene corporate profits for the oil companies as gas goes the roof should spark some serious anger.

Back to your point, though, the extremes in the House are always worse than in the Senate; there are enclaves of extremism which traditionally support Reps who could NEVER win a statewide election. As such, there are rogue elephants like Ron Paul and the Libertarian Caucus and even the odd moderate or two like Chris Shays; these guys can really knacker poor little Junior if they decide to. With the deeply unprincipled rancor in the House these days as the nazis run the place like a personal vendetta club, there are more conservatives than many would expect who are sick of being part of the evil. If they see their own survival at stake too, it could get very hot.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of fellas. We have a great chance to take back the House this time, and all we have to do is tap the grassroots anger against these monarchist kleptocrats.

I want to see Junior sworn in to testify some day, and I want him to lie, distort, disremember, huff, snort and show his grotesque ignorance to the wide and breathless world.

7. They're pissed that he's President, not them
Granted he definately has some friends, including all of the GOP Freshmen from 2002 and 2004 as well as Frist, Santorum, et al. But there are definately many that feel they are more qualified for the job than he is, and they are not wrong.

8. This is why we MUST stop talking about the Lame Duck
Where it relates to Republican politics. Bill Frist, Tom DeLay, even Chuck Hagel. We've got to talk about these people, because it helps us paint the whole Republican Party, and makes it certain that they can't run as outsiders.
