Contact CNN to tell them to start doing their job!
Heres my email I just sent to them:
"Just how does a fiancee with cold feet end up being 23 hours and 58 minutes of your news coverage today when more than 10 US soldiers have died within the last 48 hours in the neo-con Iraq war?
Whats next weeks meaningless folly to distract us from Bush's deficit, war, gas prices, bear market, and corporate giveaways; perhaps some poodle stuck in a tree somewhere?!"

21. OK, I mailed them all. Simple sentiment expressed: Do your jobs.
I've thought this was a lost cause since the election, but what the hell, why not try one last time. Somebody has to read those messages. Maybe if they get a big bunch of them all at once from the lot of us, it will have some impact.

Good one on the poodle!

Ahhhhh...if this wasn't so horrendously sad and sickening, I might be laughing more.

Thanks for the chuckle. I will write CNN also. I haven't complained to them for nearly a year.

16. Its from "Happy Days" .... when the show was beyond mature and .....
.... clearly out of coherent and even mildly funny story lines, they had Fonzi do a motorcycle jump over some shark.

whatever Karl Rove et al pay them to report. Until someone comes along that can pay more than the repigs pay, we're doomed, IMHO.

12. Thanks CAG...
I followed your example. Here's mine (just sent):

--------------------------------

Approximately one year ago we stopped watching CNN. Here's why:

CNN, in an effort to be "fair", gives EVERY position equal time. Therefore, I simply cannot trust that you're giving me real news. You're always putting a spin on stories to make them "fair". But I don't want "fair" - I want facts. Sometimes the acts of our government (especially the Bush administration) are just plain evil, yet you provide continual cover for them. I'm almost certain that our government could do virtually anything, yet no matter how evil their act, you would give them equal time and allow them to spin (or Paula Zahn/Wolf Blitzer would gladly do it for them).

Bottom Line: You aren't providing news I can trust. You have no sense of right and wrong or good and evil. It's all the same to you. You deliberately blur the lines and make it difficult for the public to identify the real bad guys. Richard Nixon would have remained in office had our news organizations then, been as terribly weak and wimpy as they are today.

You aren't doing your jobs and the public has lost faith in CNN. Once a viewer loses faith in you, there's no fixing it. They will never trust you again.

14. Here's mine:
Thank you and congratulations CNN for your extensive coverage of the "Runaway Bride". I say thank you because you've helped me rediscover both CSPAN and the internet. Instead of watching the repetitious and extensive coverage by your reporters I have gone directly to the newsmakers themselves and learned what was actually being said and done by the people themselves. Without your carefully crafted filters and monotonous coverage I've educated myself today.

I say congratulations because you've just given Fox another idea for a reality series. You've managed, through your need for money over educating the public - which was the reason I thought you existed, to help lower the IQs of everyone who watched today. On the other hand, it was a nice break from the Michael Jackson case.

Oh, in case your reporters were unaware of it, the death toll for coalition troops in Iraq is currently 1,749. There have been 1,574 Americans, 87 Britons, eight Bulgarians, one Dane, two Dutch, two Estonians, one Hungarian, 21 Italians, one Kazakh, one Latvian, 17 Poles, one Salvadoran, three Slovaks, 11 Spaniards, two Thai and 17 Ukrainians in the war in Iraq as of April 29, 2005. I know this because I copied & pasted the information from one of your BACK webpages. It is apparently the repository for stories that you can't find a hook to broadcast or share with the public. Too bad, there's a lot of good news there that's taking up space on your servers.

I'd like each of your reporters to ask themselves, especially ones like right wing think tank AEI's Bill Schneider, several questions and then report to the American people. They are:

How many of these 1,749 people would be dead if you had told the American people the truth about felon scrubbig in 2000, instead of repeating the lies of the GOP?
How much responsibility do you, as a talking head of CNN, bear for each one of these deaths?
Do you think we would be at war in Iraq if CNN had chosen to cover the so-called evidence about Iraq's involvement with 9/11 instead of the Snipers during the run-up to the election in 2002?
Do you think we would be at war in Iraq if CNN had chosen to cover any of the so-called evidence leading up to the war in Iraq had recieved the same scrutiny as a certain blue dress?
Don't you think it would have been wiser to spend time reporting news instead of deciding which story to feed to the American public to boost your corporation's bottom line? Isn't that why you became I reporter?"

Don't worry. I know you won't ask them. Besides, I wouldn't see the answer. I'm watching CSPAN and turning to the internet for my news. Good-bye Wolf and Paula, hello William Pitt, democraticunderground.com, international news services, Al Franken, Mike Malloy, David Brock and all the other people and places I found to use as my news organizations.

--A very disgruntled ex-viewer

P.S. I told them my comment was "positive"

17. My letter to CNN:
I'm sick of the incessant coverage of the "kidnapped bride" to the exclusion of far more important news.

How about covering real news, for a change? Here are a few suggestions of what's been going on that CNN is ignoring:

- more casualties in Iraq
- Budget passed by Congress has $40 billion in cuts for the poor, but gives $70 billion in tax breaks to the rich
- Republicans abuse power by shutting Democrats out of debate on Real ID Act
- Democrats introduce bills to actually HELP people, but Republicans intentionally add amendments to twist meaning
- Extremist Christian Reconstructionist sect (supported by GOP leaders) wants to stone juvenile offenders and
give death penalty to unchaste women and homosexuals
- Bush "Teenscreen" program revealed as plot by pharmaceutical companies to hook kids on psychotropic drugs; some in Texas foster care have been given numerous psychotropic drugs considered unsafe for children
- Scientific evidence of global warming documented from space

Please get rid of Nancy Grace and go back to half hour news shows. Also, please lose the right-wing slant and start telling viewers the truth. In case you haven't figured it out, a lot of Republicans are changing parties because they're learning the truth about the crazies running this country--and how the media is covering up his crimes.

Bush should be impeached. At least half a million people have signed a petition calling for it. When are you going to start doing some real investigating reporting on how many ways he's committed high crimes or misdemeanors? Surely lying to start a war is a more impeachable offense than dallying with an intern!

20. Your efforts are admirable...
but you are spinning your wheels. CNN's new president has said he wants CNN to become more like Fox. So with half the country desperate for truly fair and balanced news, Jonathan Klein has decided CNN should go after Fox's viewers.

It's only going to get worse.

23. No offense intended
...but don't waste your time. CNN cares about telling the truth as much as Bush** does.

NOT ONE IOTA.

Of course I might be willing to change my opinion if CNN connects the dots for people on the Blair secret minutes document and explains in SLOW, SHORT sentences how it proves that Bush** LIED ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR.

Blue is a good color on me, but I still ain't holding my breath.

If that woman would have been black or any other race they wouldn't have given a flying FUCK if she was em.."kidnapped" or not.
