Kerry: ‘Administration Abandons Small Contractors’
Kerry: ‘Administration Abandons Small Contractors’
26 April 2005

John Kerry reintroduced his Small Business Federal Contractor Safeguard Act, S.137, to expand protections for small businesses with federal contracts and nailed the Bush administration on their lack of support for small contractors today.

WASHINGTON -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, today called on the Bush administration and the head of the Small Business Administration (SBA) to start ensuring small businesses receive their fair share of federal contracts.

“The deck has been stacked against small businesses so large corporations have an unfair advantage when it comes to competing for federal contracts, and the administration must start ensuring small businesses have a chance at their fair share of the $300 billion federal pie,” said Kerry.

1. obscure but is true and can also help
grow up loyal businesses in the US now that major businesses
are Benedict Arnolds...
also since the defense contract awards are so corrupt and full of lobbying, they can get a contract, royally screw it up, fail
yet manage to get another one. By encouraging small business
the competition increases and the government might even get what
they paid for (unlike the 150M FBI royal waste of money with no
software and so on).

Good for Kerry, I can't see anything that isn't good about
making sure small business gets pieces of the federal pie.
