2. He MAY Have Called Them Unprecedented.... BUT
it seems to me that DANA was pretty much giving GANNON/GUCKERT another PAA-ASS! Didn't come down too hard on him, and essentially Olbermann stated the 2 FOI investigators didn't really "get" much!

Another dribble and the news has been FLUSHED!! I expected MORE from Keith!

4. And that it's no big deal....
this jerk just likes to feel important. He'd go to the White House for the dedication of a new washroom. It makes him feel "connected" when he's actually a pathetic loser with no journalistic credibility. He brags about it on FR and to his friends (if the loser has any) and tries to give the impression that he's an "insider".
I'm beginning to think there IS nothing to this story but a pitiful, gay hooker trying his best to be liked and respected. He's like the groupie on the fringe at a rock concert that can never get backstage. He's not on the A-list, but he's trying his best to convince anyone who will listen that he is.
I think he's a pathetic, insecure, pseudo-journalistic loser. Even the right doesn't take him seriously.

39. "groupie on the fringe at a rock concert that can never get backstage."
But Gannon DID get backstage. He was able to slip in and out without being subjected to security measures (no burly bouncer at the door asking to see his backstage pass).

THAT'S the story here...why was he able to do this?

where you move the metal shavings around with a magnet to give him eyebrows and hair and a beard. Only whoever did his face left out the hair and beard and only gave him little half way eyebrows.
Rats, can't remember the name of the game. Now I'll be up all night.

14. Thanks Vickers -- I learned something tonight.
Very interesting to see the difference in Ferrie's young pictures as a pilot with the "real" eyebrows --- and then the completely different look with the fake ones.

Change the eyebrows --- change the man.

27. Yes, it's WOOLY WILLY - thank goodness you remembered
I would have been wondering. And JimmyJeff really looks like him!

http://burlingamepezmuseum.com/classictoy/wooly.html

FUN FACTS!

Donald and James Herzog of the Smethport Specialty Company, Pennsylvania created Wooly Willy in 1955.

In addition to Wooly Willy, other characters with "magnetic" personalities include Hair-Do Harriet, Doodle Bug, Hair Bear Jr., and Whiskers the Cat.

Artist Leonard Mackowski designed Wooly Willy. He hid his name in the artwork, to the right of the mushroom on the back of every package.

The original Wooly Willy cost 29 cents. A larger version, Dapper Dan The Magnetic Man, sold for $1.

A Hollywood movie studio ordered a large quantity with pictures of a very popular leading male and female star. But the entire production was destroyed when the actress did not approve.

Edited on Tue Apr-26-05 08:55 PM by higher class
PASSES are for Press Briefings...are DAY PASSES allowed at all when there are no Press Briefings? Did he hold a permanent pass for the days he entered on the no-briefing days?

Can Conyers and Slaughter now ask who issued any of the passes?

There is one thing all you Olberman/MSNBC fans should appalud - the clip that shows McClellan with that delighted smile. He's usually so grim. That was one hell of a clip. Remember that one because......

Soon...some story will be concocted soon to 'splain the visits and the records - it will be be equally transparent and perfect as the story they gave us about the great Zarqawi escape. Good as Zorro! And Scottie will be telling us the story and he probably won't be smiling.

30. The best part, imo, was the snark Keith displayed after
Milbank said Gannon should "receive a Congressional Medal of Honor" for attending so many conference and Keith, slyly remarked, "Well, that would play along with his whole 'military' appearance."

Keefy got in a sticker on Gannon's lack of military records. Heh!

15.  once again MSM shows an incredible LACK of curiosity
Love how Milbank assumes he knows the answers so no further investigation is needed. What bullshit. Yeah, I'm sure the SS has no problem with visitors not "beeping" out. Yeah, they might have left, maybe...maybe not. BULL!!

Why wouldn't reporters at least be curious enough to investigate this further, of course they would, such obvious bullshit.

Milbank must have received his check.

Milbank said JimmyJeffy should get an award for attending so many briefings.

And JimmyJeff was not paid by "Talon" for a single one.

Now, is that a dedicated volunteer? Nope. There's an elephant in this room.

Milbank 'splained way too much. :)

17. I thought Milbank worked way too hard to downplay this story.
Edited on Tue Apr-26-05 10:37 PM by Nothing Without Hope
I thought Milbank was over-the-top in trying to downplay the importance of the "Gannon" WH visits story. When I saw in the newsletter that Keith would cover this story tonight, I suspected that his bosses would receive a call from the WH demanding that the story be suppressed or downplayed in some way. I wonder whose idea it was to invite Milbank? I thought he worked hard to deliberately project "nothing here, move on, move on." I mean, at the very least this is a truly BIZARRE and UNIQUE situation, and Keith forced him to admit the latter at least.

I suspect Milbank's motives.

I LOVED the fact that the previous graphic, the photo of the White House with the letters

FRIENDS

written across the front was still up behind Keith while he was talking bout the mysterious and numerous visits of JimmyJeff. I wonder if that was his way of leaking what he really thinks about this - maybe not, but I like the thought.

I hope Milbank didn't succeed in his clear goal of squashing this story. He reminded me of Rosemary Woods leaning over an impossible distance to show how she could ACCIDENTALLY erase the Nixon tape whle her foot was on the pedal of her machine.

Recommended. This is an important video clip. Thanks, dzika!

23. Notice with me that Milbank
said Gannon deserved an award for attending SO MANY briefings.

And remember, unlike Milbank, Gannon was a volunteer for "Talon" -- a pseudo news outlet that didn't come into being until AFTER he got access.

lol.

How many briefings do you think Milbank would have attended as a "volunteer"?

I mean, he'd have to have some other source of income to support his community work?

Keith was a gentleman and he didn't touch that, this time. Milbank just didn't want to go there.

he attended an UNPRECEDENTED amount of times FOR FREE! You're right, Lala! He TRIED to explain the comings and goings away--but he didn't. The defective machine routine was too much! So, if your card didn't "beep" they just flagged you through anyway? Right. These paranoid SOB's would really go for that! Hell, we can't even get near that place and it is OUR HOUSE, DAMMIT! Didn't he have the same pass # each day? How do you get that same # with a day pass? Those documents also show a time-line. We finally have official documents to work with. DOCUMENTS!!! :woohoo:

We just have to stay on this. NGU!!! :patriot:

28. Thanks, dzika. That's very kind of you.
All I can say is... what is NOT stated in a news story is often as important as what IS stated.

It's similar to 'reading between the lines' of a mystery story or a book.

Did anyone see the National Press Club's Who Are You Calling
a Journalist panel discussion? It seemed as if everyone in the room knew a secret.

and I'm telling ya, I have been around their lives for almost 20 years,I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have seen their show.

Even there a day pass will only work for THAT day.

I can't imagine Roadies and Security guards being more hard ass about passes than the SS at the WH!!!

Give me a break!!!!

Also, I have seen little Scotty alot on TV, and I have NEVER seen him smile like that!!!
