The Moral Crisis in America
:smoke:

There is talk on the Right side of America, that indicate, there is a growing moral crisis today. They talk of creating a culture of life, of an out of control judiciary and homosexuals ruining the sanctity of marriage. Drug addiction and pornography are moral erosions, caused by liberal thinking. They wave the flag and spout off patriotic rhetoric and decree "your either with us or against us." Well they are right.

There is a growing moral crisis. However, it's not as complex as the Republibots want you to think. It's actually pretty simple. They are of HIGHER MORALS than the rest of this country, and feel they MUST impose THEIR morals on us. They don't believe in abortion, therefore, NO ONE must have one. While at the same time, cut an gut programs that help that same baby after it is born. They talk about and out of control judiciary when these courts decided something against them. But these are the same courts they were praising when in their favor. These are not MORAL people. After all they send young men and women to die based on lies and deception. How moral is that.

The problem with the Right(ous) is they have their message down to a science; Tell them what you want them to learn, if they don't listen, tell them again. Tell them over and over until they do listen. If they still don't hear, tell them louder. Keep telling them until they believe you. If you have to scream them down, then do so. This is called brainwashing and it's the week minded who usually get Martinized.

We, as liberals, are not doing enough to stop these attacks on common sense and the attack on democracy itself but the Right(ous). When they yell we must yell louder. We have to start pointing out to the rest of the country their double standards in almost everything they do. If they want that baby to live, scream until the help that baby after its here. If they want that worker to succeed, provide them with a wage that can truly bring them out of poverty.

1. Christian? Morals?
Odd couple to say the least. If these fundies were a culture of life, they'd support a better economy so kids won't have to go hungry. They also wouldn't bathe since they are commiting genocide on bacteria. The only lives they care about are their own and those who are super rich. All others are fodder for a war for oil, nevermind terrorism.

Time is now to stop them by showing them that freedom of religion includes them, they aren't are enemies unless they try to remove freedoms from all people, and no theocracy ever worked. If they truely believed in a culture of life, why would DeLay come close to threatening the lives of judges?

Believe me, there are plenty of ticked-off Liberal Christians, who simply are not going to remain silent.

That's what I am actively doing about it. The challenge is, what are the rest of YOU doing about it? Enlighten me.

4. If its "faith" why do they need everyone to believe just as they do?
Edited on Sat Apr-16-05 01:04 PM by Jade Fox
That's what gets me. These people have no real faith, in God or anything
else. They are control freaks, and people lacking the self-esteem to
be satisfied with living their own lives as they see fit.

I came across this wonderful quote this week:

Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to
live as one wishes to live.--Oscar Wilde.
