Saudi to visit Bush in Texas
Dallas dinner planned; democratic reform, oil, terrorism on agenda

President Bush will host Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at his ranch in Crawford this month before the prince wraps up a brief Texas visit with a reception and dinner in Dallas at the Fairmont Hotel.

The two leaders are expected to discuss oil, Middle East politics and the war on terrorism, but White House spokesman Scott McClellan put "efforts to promote democratic reform" ahead of those issues in announcing the April 25 meeting.

Mr. Bush has publicly urged the authoritarian Saudi monarchy to move ahead with elections and more public participation in politics.

Ending the visit in Dallas, Prince Abdullah, 81, "simply wants to hit another area he hasn't been to, and there are a lot of people in the area who want to see him," Mr. Jordan said. The Saudi leader's dinner in Dallas is being hosted by the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council.
