Senate Judicial 'Nuclear Option' RIP (Wheels coming off the GOP clown car)

Posted on 04/14/2005 6:04:01 PM PDT by quidnunc

Senator Santorum began the program today, and the news was as bad as it gets. Do you have the votes to end the filibuster? "We're working on it." When will the vote occur? "Within a couple of months." Radioblogger will have a full transcript soon.

As soon as that phrase hit the airwaves the e-mail avalanche began and the angry calls have not let up. The Senate GOP is destroying itself, and it does not appear to be aware of the fact...

And now for their delicious comments...enjoy...

The GOP counted on the Democrats to act like they themselves acted in the minority — that is, like draggletailed losers — but the Dems surprised them by opening a war room and going on the offense. The Republicans are getting their heads handed to them all across the board. They are well and truly The Stupid Party.

They do not come any more true blue conservative than I, but I am actually beginning to seriously contemplate why I support the Republican party in the Senate. I truly think the GOP could hold 70 seats in the Senate & not be any more effective than it is now. There are probably not more than 20 senators that should even be affiliated with the GOP.Excuse me, I have to go throw up.

And my favorite...

Those of us that put these "spineless" people in office need to start calling and emailing them by the hundreds of thousands expressing our outrage.

1. When will these geniuses realize the Republicon-men don't care...
...about so-called "morality" or getting government out of their pathetic little lives? The Corporate Party just cares about profits.

5. check out this one.

I couldn't have said that better. I, too, am so incredibly frustrated! I worked my (ample) @ss off to get Bush elected (though he lost Wisconsin due to Voter Fraud and the Socialists in Madison & the 'On The Dole' folks in Milwaukee) and THIS is how I'm repaid? Cripes. I've got more testosterone than some of these "Girly Men" are that we've elected!"

oh...this has to be a horrible, horrible joke.

6. So they are pissed that the nuclear option to destroy the lives of the
bottom 98% is being resisted? How stupid can these people really be? Or is the reality thatmost are GOP operatives that post there? I know a few have been exposed, but I'm beginning to think that the 500 or so regulars might all be on the RNC payroll.

7. Santorum was on the Hugh Hewitt show - I caught some of the interview
He said the Nuclear option would be voted on in 2 months or less...

Hugh said that this was an outrage and that the vote needed to happen in 2 weeks. His clan of lemmings called up outraged and threatened to pull support from the repub Senators. It's amazing how stupid these people can be in thier desire to win. They truly believe this is a competition.

Its funny to see that the people over at FR are just like us. They believe that their party is full of spineless wimps that frequently fail some purity test and shouldn't be part of the party. Its just like Clint Eastwood said, if you go far enough left, you come full circle and run into the wackos coming around the from other side...
