Santorum: DeLay Needs to Answer Questions
GOP Sen. Rick Santorum Says House Majority Leader Tom DeLay Needs to Address Ethics Questions
The Associated Press

Apr. 10, 2005 - The No. 3 Republican in the Senate said Sunday that embattled House Majority Leader Tom DeLay needs to answer questions about his ethics and "let the people then judge for themselves."

Sen. Rick Santorum's comments seem to reflect the nervousness among congressional Republicans about the fallout from the increased scrutiny into DeLay's way of doing business.

DeLay, R-Texas, has been dogged in recent months by reports of possible ethics violations. There have been questions about his overseas travel, campaign payments to family members and his connections to lobbyists who are under investigation."I think he has to come forward and lay out what he did and why he did it and let the people then judge for themselves," said Santorum, chairman of the Senate Republican Conference.

"But from everything I've heard, again, from the comments and responding to those, is everything he's done was according to the law," Santorum told ABC's "This Week." "Now you may not like some of the things he's done," Santorum said. "That's for the people of his district to decide, whether they want to approve that kind of behavior or not."

(Well, :eyes: read the whole thing for your self and decide)

1. If Rove, Inc. has decided against Delay
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 06:20 PM by LiviaOlivia
then who better to start the inside move against the Bugman but a creep
who is down in the polls.

I think it's a move to make man-on-dog look good to Penn voters. It has nothing to do with morality, ethics and justice.

2. Delay is now a "liability for Chimp." So Repugs dump him and replace
him with "whom?" Aren't they getting kind of low on the list? How many of Reagan/Poppy's folks can they keep calling on?

So...they dump Delay....and give the "next in line" the POWER.

When does it end? When does the last person on their "Relay Race" say "NO GO!....had enough of this shit?"

4. It ends when they are voted out of office
and/or a Dem majority gets in and convenes hearings which hopefully leads to prosecutions. Maybe God will call them to a higher office. More appropriately Lucifer should make the job offer.

We are still fighting the Repukes for clean and fair elections. Focus locally IMHO.

5. Wanna guess who Santorum wants to replace him with?
Rick Santorum.

DeLay has gotten a bit too embarassing for His Chimperial Majesty, so now they have to make him a scapegoat for everything His Chimperial Majesty has been criticized for in recent days.

I bet they are manoeuvering to place the Village Idiot of Pittsburgh as Speaker.

Oh -- and by the way -- Santorum is up for re-election next year. Like The Smirk, whose power he worships more fervently than his professed (and opportunistic) Catholicism -- Rickie pretends real hard to appear to be sane and moderate during election cycles.

Bush always replaces an incompetent loser with an even more profoundly incompetent loser -- so it would appear they intend to replace DeLay with Rick the Dog Fucker. Just like we had to settle for DeLay replacing Trent Lott -- boy, wasn't that a nice change :eyes:

6. There is one problem with your analysis
Edited on Sun Apr-10-05 07:12 PM by borg5575
While I sympathize with your opinions, Santorum can't replace Delay. Delay is House Majority Leader. Santorum is a senator, so he can't replace Delay. They would have to pick another member of the House to do that. But I'm sure that they can find some other reactionary thug to replace Delay just fine even though it can't be Santorum.

Besides that, Santorum has bigger fish to fry. He's running for president in 2008 if he wins re election.

7. But....what if Repugs are so "Alpha Male" they look at knocking of Delay
as a chance for more "$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$'s" for them?

We are now living in a "Corporist World" where the "Strong devoir the weak" and "Anything Goes." (a "tap dance" for ANYTHING GOES...which was a Broadway hit in the "pre-millenium" tims....:D"

Anyway.....Who is the ALPHA MALE who will "Bulldog for Bush" if Delay goes?

Santorum ...well he seems a little weak in that department.
