Over the past few decades, the Republican Party has changed and become a corporate cult or neocon cabal, the extent and the ultimate aims of which have never been exposed. Of course everyone knows this generally, but you cannot solve problems of this kind generally. It is not even like a political party anymore, but just an institution inventing propaganda and mind-controlling induced forgetting. They advance no proposals to solve the problems of the country--they don't give a rat's ass what happens to the servants. They don't want to help the people; they want the tax revenues, the money. Oil executives invade countries as a new/old way to corner the market by "killing" the competition. Lobbyists and executives write legislation, they convene "energy commissions," they threaten true Federal government workers not to reveal the true costs of Republican cuts and/or programs. Nothing operates publicly anymore--they sabotage people's careers, and there is never an investigation, only "framing" and Wolf Blitzer etc. lying and attacking, until finally.....zzzzz. It really is a corporation now, with all back-stabbing apparatus operating.
Never before have all Republicans fallen so completely under their group's orders to tow the line and shut up. They have no morals, no courage or honesty, they all advance their own Party positions at the expense of the entire middle-class and the economy--and that means the phony, "free ride" John McCain and all the rest of these devils who never pay a price. Yet you never hear a word of attack against these threatening co-conspirators, only constant jeering against--us. We should never forget how easily they were made to sabotage one law after another, and attempt to kill one program or Federal department after another, and none of them ever had the guts to break ranks and speak out. Their party has been like this for a long time; I remember during the early '90s when the Repub Congress tried to kill the Commerce Dept., which keeps records on corporate financial operations, to track and prove fraud and malfeasance. This department saves the country countless millions of dollars a year, by collecting from criminal corporations. Why would anyone want to destroy a department that only catches corporate criminals and recovers money properly belonging to government? Obviously, for the same reason, whatever it ultimately is, that they periodically try to kill the Internal Revenue Service. They don't want there to be government at all, except as a way to collect taxes from peons, and rich capitalists steal them, or to finance, not an armed force necessarily, but the corporations that profit by it.
The point has been made that they want to undo everything ever accomplished by the New Deal (they even lie about what the New Deal was, nowadays), labor unions, consumer groups, social workers, citizens for generations, every one of us who ever lived. On this issue, there seem to be two levels to their behavior, making it difficult to judge: what things they do that really are their original intent, and the things they do either to lead up to ultimately destroying something else or to placate some group for the moment. Regardless, all of our equal-protection civic society will be wiped away as if none of it had ever happened, and we will finally be thrown back to a Medieval world of corrupt, total power of vicious rich capitalists who actually do own it all, propagandize or censor everything, and who have just a neverending party by dancing on our graves. The most frightening thing about this prospect is that the level of poverty the people will suffer will be of a horrific, Medieval kind that we have not had here for generations, and now, with no laws, it will no longer be solvable. Beaten-down, starving people do not rebel, they just suffer ignored, and die ignored.
The Republican Party is no longer even a politcal party at all, but a corporate institution designed to destroy government and law itself, permanently.
