Americans polled on Budget choices. How the F does the GOP win?!? Read...
When I read this crap, I laugh, then shake my head, then it settles in and I get angry.

see full reports here:

press release (shorter)here:
http://www.pipa.org/OnlineReports/budget/030705/Press03_07_05.pdf

The saying is true. Most people think like Democrats and then half of them vote Republican.

The study, in light of the new 2006 budget wanted to see how Bush's budget aligns with the public's priorities.

Get this:

1.Defense-$133.8B--31% (65% supported reduction/35% opposed This the average after all counts!!!)
2.Supplemental for Iraq and Afgan.$29.6B 35%
3.Transportation--$12.6B--18%
4.Fed. Admin. of Justice-$8.7B--21%
5.Space programs--%1.2B--5%

What the public increased:
1.Deficit Reduction Money--$36.3B
2.Education $26.8B---39%
3.Energy Conserv. and renewable fuel research-$24B (1090%!!!!) Agreed!
4.Job Training/Employ.--$19B---263%
5.Medical Research--15.5B---53%
6.Vets benefits--$12.5B--40%
7.Housing 9.3B 31%
8.Environment 9B--(32%)
9.UN and peacekeeping 4.8B 207%

1. This is what Michael Moore keeps
saying. When polled the people agree overwhelmingly with the Dems on issues. It's an image problem and the dems make it worse when they do not define themselves on the issues and campaign as repukes because then they say oh well they are all the same anyway.

2. What's the Matter with Kansas? Only change the last to USA
What do you say about people that consistently vote against their economic self-interest and against the values they say they have and hold dear?

Moronic doesn't begin to describe the phenomenon

3. gawd
I hear you!

I just read an article today on Bush's latest low poll ratings, 44% approval, with a 37% approval for Congress.

The headline was: Bush indifferent to new low approval ratings.

Indifferent! As I read on, I knew why.

There's no viable alternative. He knows he's leading a one-party state, and the people's views don't matter anyway.. it's the xtian fundies and the corporo-fascists that matter.

The article even said that despite the low approval numbers, Republicans were still behind Bush. One was quoted as saying: Bush is doing a good job.

What is this? Cognitive dissonance? Pure insanity....

4. How do they win? I've been saying it for months
They LIE, cheat and steal. They have nothing else but lies.

They lie about who they are, what they stand for, what their agenda is, what they are doing, what they plan to do, what they have done.

They give their agendas, legislation, etc. Democratic-sounding but thoroughly Orwellian names: Clear Skies Initiative; Patriot Act; etc.

They steal elections. They suppress the Democratic vote -- so many of our voters can be targeted geographically that it's relatively easy to line up an array of vote suppression AND planned ballot spoilage techniques.

And don't forget -- the coming demographics favor US even more. They know this and it makes it all the more imperative that they perfect every single one of their techniques for lying, cheating and stealing. And they've been very, very busy doing just that.

8. giving agendas democratic sounding names,
so true. That seems to be their best weapon, "clear skies" - "Patriot Act" - "Death Tax", all their agendas have those cool Demo. words that say "we care." Dean was quite good at pointing out those oxymorons.

5. Because media repeats RNC talking point Dems are out of touch with the
American people. And they repeat it almost every day in every way they can.

The GOP controlled media will not DISCUSS the real issues of the everyday working class American. They only DO spin from the Republican talking points.

We had an election where most of the media dwelled on lies from Swiftvets who never even served with Kerry, gay marriage, abortion, "nobody can beat Bush on the terror issue" and Dems offer no plans for anything.

There was no consideration of Kerry's speeches on fair wages, healthcare, closing corporate loopholes, environment, national security, and how a strong environmental effort and energy independence will have a positive effect on national security.

6. Yeah. The Media is the number one Crook
The GOP can only get away with this Orwell 1984 CRAP because the media lets them.

I read studies and polls ALMOST EVERY DAY and post many of them here. The theme is always the same. When no one is looking, people are progressive and mainly liberal.

The fact that the media has access to the same stuff as a nobody like me says it all.

They could rant for weeks on these stats but they don't.

SCHIAVO SCHIAVO POPE POPE SCHIAVO ABORTION POPE GAYS GOD SCHIAVO etc.

This works so much more easily.
