Privatization is dead...won't pass, no way, no how!
U.S. Senator Max Baucus, the senior Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, said President George W. Bush's proposal to create private Social Security accounts has no chance of passing Congress.

``Privatization is dead,'' Baucus, a Montana lawmaker, said on Capitol Hill today. The Bush proposal ``won't pass, no way, no how.''

1. Let's hope we can soon use the same headline for the National Sales Tax...
..."National Sales Tax Proposal is dead...won't pass, no way, no how!"

...because that's NEXT on the agenda. Hastert was bangin' the drum for THAT one earlier this week.

:toast:

2. But he's not giving up....
They have started the 2nd front in their propaganda... The local radio station in Colorado Springs had 2 speakers from the Club for Growth on for a couple of hours today pushing privatization. They are starting a full-scale talk radio assault, maybe?

4. Had that going on here in Iowa
WHO the biggest station in Iowa has a morning talk show that is basically the F-- Social Security show.
Their big premise is that the T-bills are of no value and won't be paid. I'd think even talking about defaulting on that debt would lend a lot of shakiness to the US economy.

3. I've heard Bush is working
on ways to implement some of his (yet unspecified) plans by executive order. Not sure how he'd go about this, but then I never thought we'd get shit like 'faith-based-initiative'. That was an executive order deal.
More than one way to skin a cat or fleece a working stiff and move those bucks to your rich friends that need it.

6. A battle, not the war. Mission only begun. Time to push harder.
