Memo to Republican supporters : Had enough yet ?
I just put gas in the old wagon. In Colorado Springs, it is now 2.50 per gallon. Many people are paying taxes to Uncle Sam at this time of year because they had to withdraw from their IRA's to survive during this Bush "recovery". The deficits have shot into outer space. Our nation is the most divided since at least the Vietnam War and perhaps, since the Civil war. Our troops are dying for lies from the Republican leadership and their right-wing propaganda machine. Many people that are working now are working for much less money than just four years ago. Many of their jobs have gone overseas. Do you still think the economy is doing great and that Dubya is a "great" leader because we haven't been attacked by those powerful "terrorists"? Are you still afraid?

1. Their ignorance is what has supplied their fear.
Clearly, there is nothing to fear, except for the * administration. We on the "intellectual" side understand that.

4. Seeing some cracks around the edges
in northern NM, but their is an Unhealthy Fixation and Identification with Bush for many Republicans. They cannot yet admit his many grievous sins and shortcomings, for it is too close to the bone. Condemn him and they must condemn themselves.

Still, each man and woman must face the mirror every morning, and truth has a way of working over time. So, as ever, I have a measure of hope.

14. I remember reading a debate thread here a year or so ago
where someone was swearing up and down that Bush would never get ANWAR and people screaming about it were being CT nuts or some such....nothing to worry about...

WIsh I could find that thread again...I think some dismissers would have a big crow pie to eat...along with their $2.50 gas and soon to be despoiled wilderness.

8. But there are people that cannot afford anything but the clunker ...
they have - which, if they are lucky, gets 15 miles per gallon. They bought it for $500 just to have something to get around in. There are many people in that situation.

9. And remember how ballistic Repukes went back in 2000??
When for some em..."reason" gas went up about .30 cents per gallon around May or June. Oh my...they kicked, screamed and stomped their feet on how Clinton and Presidential candidate Gore had NO ENERGY POLICY and were fully responsible for prices hitting $1.60 per gallon.

Take gas out of the Strategic Reserve they screamed, lower the Federal fuel tax they shouted,DO SOMETHING CLINTON they shrieked.

Gas goes up .12 cents A FUCKING WEEK around here, now its at $2.30 and climbing. All I hear now from those same screaming REPUKES is silence.....

12. It is time to face the fact that Bush was elected for his "Personality"
and "Good Christianity," as manufactured and polished to a lovely luster by Mr. Karl Rove and Miss Karen Hughes.

He was elected in spite of his policies, not because of them.

His supporters can't see beyond the "brush clearing" and "resolve."

15. STICKERS ON GAS PUMPS
we need bumperstickers that we could slap on the side of gas pumps when we fill up that say

GAS $2.50+ HOW DO YA LIKE BUSH NOW?

Now there's a bit of guerilla action that I might find entertaining.
