Poll question: What's your favorite political news magazine?
What is your never-miss-it, automatically-renewed, hands-down- favorite political rag? You know, the one that is all underlined and highlighted. The one you like to shove under other people's noses. What mag do you just love, and why? I'm curious, and also want to make sure I'm not missing a really good one!

1. The American Prospect - Weren't They The Ones Who
had that cool cover:"The Most Dangrous President Ever"?

I'd like a t-shirt of that one!

6. Don't forget "In These Times" also at www.inthesetimes.com
There are several excellent magazines out there. Mother Jones and The Nation are ones I read, but I'll be sure and look at these others.

Also, check out http://www.inthesetimes.com

7. I've subscribed to the Washington Monthly for 25 years. . .
Lots of would-be hard-hitting journalists get their start at this little magazine through its internship program. A handful of Pulitzer prizes won by its alumni doesn't hurt either.

8. Long time Nation subscriber, but
let that lapse, now enjoying Mother Jones. I guess I'm a transitioning liberal. More left, I'm afraid, as animal and environmental protection are important issues to me too.

Good poll ginny, maybe you should send this link to the pubs you listed :)

10. thanks, maybe I should
I am also a Nation subscriber, but am wondering what else is out there. I visit a lot of these magazines online. The environment is also one of my big interests, but I already get the Sierra Club's magazine.

11. The Economist
It has the most intelligent coverage of the entire world political scene. And it doesn't have the tunnel vision that the US media has.

12. I said American Prospect.
But I really like the New Yorker as well, and the New York Review of Books, but neither is purely political.

I get the Nation, but I often disagree with what's said in it. Love Calvin Trillin's doggerel, though!

but I also like the New Republic. And add Mother Jones in there too - can't go without the Mark Fiore cartoons!

14. The Nation by a hair over Harpers....but
This week's cover made me cringe.

I might pick Harpers if they came out weekly but the Nation is my political fix...I give out subscriptions as Christmas presents now...my family thinks I'm nuts.
