Theory on Delay
Delay is obviously feeling the heat these days. However, I have never heard a senator or elected official blame the "liberal Media" on a consistent basis. I am not sure what Americans outside of Delay's district think of him but the liberal media mantra seems like something the dittoheads in his district would take a likin to. Do people on Du think Delay is in deep trouble for reelection and just trying to rally his supporters or what? Just seems odd to me.

1. His local supporters are done with him...
And clearly the green light was given to dethrone him. He is on his way out.

just channel surf the "spews" -- it's anything but liberal

anyone waiting for them to blame Clinton next or have they beaten that horse enough already?

meanwhile -- he's clutching at straws, blaming everyone else for problems he created out of his own arrogance. He obviously missed the part in the Bible where is talks about Pride going before the fall

3. He's going into a graveyard spiral
At this point he'll say anything, but the hubris is so obvious. I have always thought that narcissism, self delusion, greed, and his arrogance would eventually be his undoing. lets hope he augers in - completely.

4. more like a "Delay Theory" or "Operation Delay"
The longer it takes, the more damage they do.

Fix the electronic vote permanently. By getting rid of electronics in voting. You have to complain LOCALLY. This SHIT HAS TO GO.

Now they got our Ballot box.
Next it will be the Jury Box!

5. The big money his wife and daughter got
IMHO, will hurt him more with the locals than what he did himself. Even in Texas  $500,000 is a lot of money.

DeLay blaming the liberal media - unfortunately the Wall Street Journal came out with a scathing article on him yesterday. Oops!

9. Ditto w/ Dallas Morning News...
The right wing paper that made shrub their Texan of the Year in 2003 and Rove in 2004...did an editorial on him, too, and it was not pretty:

DeLay's Troubles
GOP must decide where it stands

In pop parlance, a television program "jumps the shark" when it features a stunt or plot twist so ludicrous that the show has nowhere to go but down.

If House Majority Leader Tom DeLay fails to pull out of the downward ethics spiral he's caught in, history will note that the powerful Republican jumped the shark on the day in March he blamed a vast left-wing conspiracy for his woes. What kind of mess is Mr. DeLay in? For starters, there's that ongoing money-laundering probe in Travis County, in connection with the DeLay-driven congressional redistricting effort.

<snippit--lists all his recent scandals>

Once upon a time, Tom DeLay helped lead an insurrection that toppled a Democratic House regime grown fat and happy with power. What a difference a decade in power makes. Somehow, we doubt the Democrats will miss the opportunity to remind voters come 2006

House Republicans should be asking themselves whether they really want to stake their careers defending the folly of a politician who, despite all he has done for the Republican cause, has forgotten where he came from.
