Tennessee's Sen. Ford Subject of Probe(Uncle of US rep Ford jr.)

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Over three decades in the Tennessee Senate, John Ford has lost paternity lawsuits, given a political job to a girlfriend and been successfully sued for sexual harassment.

snip--

So it was not entirely surprising last year when the 62-year-old lawmaker testified at a child-support hearing that he has two households - one with a pregnant ex-wife and their three children, another with a longtime girlfriend and their two offspring. That is in addition to another young child he has with a third woman. But what really caught the eye of fellow lawmakers was the release of Ford's tax returns at the hearing.
The ethics committee's chairman, Senate Republican Leader Ron Ramsey, said Ford's business dealings "don't pass the smell test."

snip--

Ford - brother of former U.S. Rep. Harold Ford Sr. and uncle of current U.S. Rep. Harold Ford Jr. - has said he has done nothing illegal or unethical. The Democrat did not respond to a request from The Associated Press for an interview for this story.

1. This is old news.
Ron Ramsey, btw, is an asshat, but that's a subject for another discussion.

2. Like Donald Nixon, Billy Carter, and other political
embarrassing relatives who clutter the national stage, young Harold is going to learn that they go after the weakest link first. In a way, it is a backhanded compliment--obviously they think he has potential.

Carter handled it well--he shrugged it off. Whaddaya gonna do?

3. Granted, Ford is more crooked than a country road...
..but I find it mighty interesting that the word "ethics" is being bandied about when a black politician is at the center of all the controversy. No one did anything when Sundquist was doing his shenanigans...still, I blame Ford...he should KNOW better than to have done ANY of this crap...

They get three strikes, we only get ONE!

4. What I find interesting, too, is that the Republicans in the General
Assembly are really pushing this hard NOW, as opposed to when the allegations first surfaced.

Methinks they want to confuse the public with the name, "Ford," because our young Ford is getting ready to run for US Senate.

5. That's right...
I forgot that Harold Jr. is prepping to make a Senate run! Anything the GOP can use to keep those two Senate seats!
