Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison..wants run for Texas Governor
...........maybe the reason for her e-mails going to you people here..........

AUSTIN, Texas A top West Texas Republican says Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison wants to run for governor because she's tired of commuting between Texas and Washington.

Sue Brannon is Midland County's Republican Party chairwoman. She tells the Houston Chronicle that Hutchison has told her that she's tired of the commute and wants to spend more time with her children.

But Brannon says she told her fellow Republican that challenging Governor Rick Perry in next year's G-O-P primary would hurt the party.

4. Not news. I went to a presentation on Texas governors' homes last
year and the author said he had to hurry to finish the book before another governor was elected. (He actually said before Kay Bailey was elected! I was in a private home or I would have walked out.)

5. The NYTimes reports today that Hutchison is tired of the commute --
-- between Texas and DC.

In my ideal universe, she steps down from the Senate, challenges Perry, loses the nomination, then Perry loses in the general election to Sheila Jackson Lee, who then appoints Bill Moyers to fill the Senate seat.

Also in my ideal universe, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, and Yo Yo Ma will give a command performance this coming Friday.

Free beer for everyone.

6. So does Scott McClellan's mom, Carol Keeton Strayhorn.

Currently Texas Comptroller, she has been mentioned. NOBODY likes Perry, even the other Republicans. Unlike Perry & KBH, CKS has never been a cheerleader.

8. Same lady that dissed Texas UU's
What a wench....she tried to deny a local UU church their tax exempt status because, in her eyes, since the congregation didn't have "one belief" then they should not be considered a religion..hence, no tax exempt status.
Then the media and the lawyers got involved and a week later she was forced to back down and grant the church tax exempt status.

Unitarian Universalists have for decades presided over births, marriages and memorials. The church operates in every state, with more than 5,000 members in Texas alone.

But according to the office of Texas Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn, a Denison Unitarian church isn't really a religious organization -- at least for tax purposes. Its reasoning: the organization "does not have one system of belief."

Never before -- not in this state or any other -- has a government agency denied Unitarians tax-exempt status because of the group's religious philosophy, church officials say. Strayhorn's ruling clearly infringes upon religious liberties, said Dan Althoff, board president for the Denison congregation that was rejected for tax exemption by the comptroller's office.
