Something That Worries Me On Friday...
Will there be an attack at the funeral? It seems an unspeakable thing to even think about, but it worries me. I really think the security will be tight, to say the least, so hopefully, everyone will be o.k. What do you think?

3. bu$h is Hated All Over The World - His Presence There
will dim the respect due the Pope. He really needs to just stay away. When you're hated, people will stop at nothing to make a point, especially when your goal is world domination.

4. nothing is going to happen
any group that would launch an attack would be hunted down and killed to a man

I'm sure there's some sort of "gentlemen's" agreement not to do anything during the funeral

16. The likelihood of dying
does not seem to deter some. And a "gentlemen's agreement" would not
apply to the radical groups that would like nothing more than to be able
to claim responsibility for Bush's demise.

Unfortunately, they do not care how many others are killed in the process.
That reason alone should be enough to keep Shrub home.

But then, his massive ego is, and always has been, more important than the
safety of others.

5. I've thought it would also be a good opportunity
for a terrorist attack. What sets this apart is the shear number of people there and the fact that it happened rather suddenly with little time to set up good security.
What a score for the terrorists if they just want to wipe out infidel Christens, but is that really their goal?
I thought they were more into attacking countries oppressive to Islam.

If there was an attack no doubt the bush whores will suggest bombing whatever that thing is in Mecca that the Muslims circle around.

11. Maybe, but the Muslim community doesn't hate the Pope.
He was actually on their side a bunch of times.

9. Yeah, but terrorists don't just hit things for the sake of hitting them.
So who would be motivated to strike a funeral for the Pope? Do you know of any group that disliked him in particular?

13. doubt it
If there goal was indeed to attack and kill us because they "hate our freedom" then sure, they'll pull a Guy Fawkes or something. But that's not their goal. Last I remember, they were pretty pissed at Israel for over a millenia of oppression and domination.. and when we got all cozy with Israel over 30 or 40 years ago, THAT was when they stated saying "ok, well, America isn't that great...". The influence we've pushed onto the M.E. over the past 30 years or so isn't helping our image... not to mention we contantly pimp Israel, not to mention support the most barbaric kingdoms IN the M.E..... but attacking at that funeral would just incite a Holy War, and that's not what they're about. I don't think they want another Crusade.... I sure as hell don't either.

Besides, if an attack was planned--do you think 3 Bushes & Condi would be risking their necks?

25. I f*cked up
haha, I messed up what I was trying to say anyways. :hide:

I jsut don't think they're in a position to flew their "world Domination" muscle, lest they enjoy getting bombed and bloodied to a pulp. Even if some "insurgents" from another country invaded the US to "free us from our own tyrrany" I know people would still fight against it, not because they support *, but because they wouldn't want to be occupied by some foreign force... and I think they're more concerned with that than global domination...

I just don't think they'd do it, but I could always be wrong.

21. Your post explains the Modern Terrorist

"Last I remember, they were pretty pissed at Israel for over a millenia of oppression and domination.."

Modern Israel was founded in 1948. Israel did not exist, and the Jews did not rule any nation by any name in the Middle East, for roughly 1800 years prior to that.

Jews living in the region suffered almost a millenia of oppression and domination by the ruling Muslims. But prior to 1948 Jews in Israel were in no position to oppress and dominate anyone.

22. Don't worry too much.
Between Bush, and the members of his posse, and two former Presidents in the entourage, there will probably be 2 Searet Service operatives in the crowd for ever Italian or other.

My guess is no one will be able to reach into an inside pocket without finding out who they are...
