<sarcasm off>

Even my law enforcement Republican moderate father says it is a horrid thing.

On edit - my moderate republican father who voted for Kerry because he said he could not trust the idiot in chief and those around him, and those who RUN him.

7. Too much of a scientist to let that one go
It "shows" nothing. One question in a nonrandom poll shows nothing. If it "suggests" anything, it is most likely that the opponents care far more than the proponents, and the vast majority have no position. Unfortunately, the reality is that most of the responders have no idea what's in the Patriot Act.

11. I disagree.
If there is any issue that probably unites the political spectrum, it's police state legislation. When states like Montanna enact laws demanding the repeal, I think it's a safe bet that a large majority of Americans oppose this.

Of course, maybe the Bush administration will ask Diebold and ESS to conduct a random survey that will clearly show most Americans are in favor of laws that empower the federal government to build case files on them.
