VOTE to hate Gays today in Kansas......
Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 07:05 AM by OneTwentyoNine
Among other meaningless, trivial matters like school board members and city commissioners Kansans get to vote to take away as many rights from gays and lesbians as possible. Meanwhile Kansas and the US treasury will still be taking the maximum taxes from them which in turn keeps several loudmouth hate filled preachers in their tax-free churches. On the positive side there have been many churches and their preachers speak out against this kind of discrimination and will vote NO.

Never mind Kansas has had a law on its books banning marriage between anyone except a man and a woman since 1887. Nah...thats not good enough for the full blown radical religious right. Only a State Constitutional amendment will silence those quacks--for a little while.

School funding in Kansas has been woefully short and actually violates the State Constitution but was put on the back burner when the legislators first met this year so they could hurry and get the gay bashing vote on the April ballot.

2. Did you just here Shirley Phelps on the Stern show?
It's always entertaining when she's on. She was on today to say that the Pope was in hell.

They did something interesting to say and just kept asking if all these famous people were in heaven.

They basically highlighted the fact that she couldn't name 1 person who wasn't a member of her family or Abraham who was in heaven

6. Geezus... Freddie's outtdone himself this time (Catholics be warned!)
"Deal with it, you idolatrous morons: The Pope is in Hell!

Pope John Paul II Is In Hell

Westboro Baptist Church members are competent expert witnesses, having picketed hundreds of Catholic churches in all 50 states since 1991. We will bear witness on Judgment Day: Catholics are the meanest, most violent peaple on earth, and their churches are filled with filthy fag priests. On John Paul II's watch, the Catholic Church became the Church of the Holy Pedophiles Where the Mass is celebrated not with bread & wine but with vile sodomite feces ("scat") & semen. Vatican Intelligence surpasses the CIA + FBI + ad infinitum. The Pope appoints all bishops, archbishops, cardinals, etc., and he does so knowing most are fags or enablers. As the final and absolute ruler of all things Catholic, he is solely responsible for every raped child and every sinful, pervert priest. "Hell from beneath is moved to meet thee at thy coming." Isa. 14: 9. "And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments." Lk. 16:23."

24. So having picketed Catholic churches in their own obnoxious fashion
makes them competent expert witnesses who can testify as to the true nature of all Catholics? Fascinating. I suppose true Christians would have made their own signs and joined right in, instead of getting all huffy ... :eyes:

4. why not pack up and move
I mean, its Kansas, what's keeping any sane liberal from staying there anyway? If you have family, I'm sure you can come back and visit, but there's no sense in giving your tax dollars to a state that hates you.

This applies to pretty much every liberal in every red state, btw. Do us all a favor and move to Ohio or something. :)

7. Yes it is Kansas
and it is my home and I will not leave it to the likes of these people to think that they have no opposition. What is keeping us here? Well for one it is a beautiful state full of very good people, it is not crowded and it is a great place to be. "I mean, its Kansas" what does that mean?

and moving next door to MO. However, I'm staying here and fighting. This damn state will be blue when I get done with it. Our website is changing voters one-by-one out here.

19. Yeah, it's Kansas, so what?
I happen to like it here. I've been to 45 states (including Ohio) and several foreign countries, and nothing I've seen in any of those places has convinced me that I'm wrong to live here.

Quality of life isn't measured solely by the political environment.

You will then join my lovely state of Ohio
who now has the most oppresive anti gay legislation in the United States.

My son is moving from Ohio in June, and Kansas will not be on the list. He is seriously considering Europe.

15. I have not compared
but I believe ours is like yours and NOBODY has any clue, all they know is that it will keep gays from marrying. Yesterdays phone calls still brought it up to people who had no idea what was in the amendment and the way it was stated on my ballot left it all up to the voter to ponder what it means and that is not likely to happen in the booth. Please tell your son that if this passes we will not stop fighting it, we have banded together through 3 anti gay city or state issues and we are strong, it just isn't enough yet.

9. so, will Kansas join its neighbor, Missouri
in passing the I hate gays amendment to the state constitution?

We in Missouri also had a law prohibiting gay marriage before the rw decided they had to put it in the state constitution.

22. Uhhh...guess you didn't catch my sarcasm but....
would Marty Marshall be a better choice?? Last time he was on the board he wanted to do away with the teaching of evolution for creationism--oh wait, now they call it Intelligent Design.

I'm in the Maize school district so I can't vote on Wichita SBM,but why would Marshall be better?

The Passion.
