7. Part of me wants to say
no, but part of me wants to say yes. The part that wants to say no thinks he's just a pawn for the real antichrist. He's definitely on that side of things in my opinion. Then again, I am surrounded by people who say we are the antichrist and that OUR side is wrong and evil. OMG, you are the people my mother warned me about. I'm rebelling and enjoying good fun people here at DU. I'm sinning. I wish there was a cybersex chat room here so I could participate in an orgy and completely go decadent and debauched.

10. Bush = Antichrist?
I'm no Bible scholar, but I thought the Antichrist was supposed to be someone that everyone admired & followed for some period of time. To my knowledge, Bush has never had the support of more than ~50% of Americans -- not to mention his terrible standing with the rest of the world's population.

Also, I don't take mythology literally. I think it's unhealthy.

14. Dubya is WAY too dumb and polarizing to be the Antichrist
The Antichrist is supposed to be a supremely powerful, charismatic, and devious individual like the Emperor from Star Wars.

Dubya is more like a villain out of a Mel Brooks movie.

Edited on Sat Apr-02-05 08:29 PM by Cell Whitman
imho, Bush is boob tool not the 666

I understand that based on 2nd Thes. that Christ can't return until the 'son of perdition' is exposed. So I am sure the fundies would like to get past that....

Kind of leaves this fellow in a bind, don'cha think?

Wonder if the Pres ever read John 5:43

Ever read John 5:43?

John 5:43 eh?

there are a growing number of Preterist Christians who are figuring out LaHaye and the rest are full of hooey. That most, if not all, predictions of the Bible were fulfilled by 70AD.

check out this interview...

26. Since there's no such thing, no.
Besides, it's seductively dangerous to assume he is, because then it's "up to Jesus" (and not US) to stop him.

27. Just to play Jesus' advocate...
Maybe it's not literally up to Jesus to stop him, but rather, our beliefs in Jesus' principles to stop the anti-christ.

Then agian, I should shuttup. I haven't read that part of the bible.

31. To quote St. Augustine...
"There you have the Antichrist everyone who denies Christ by his works."

Though I am a Christian, I am wary of Biblical prophecy. Ergo, I would say Bush is *an* antichrist.

32. Didn't Nostradamus predict...
there would be three anti-Christs? He was supposedly only off by a few years when talking about Napolean, Hitler, and someone named "Mabus" around 2000

Some point out that the end of "osaMA" and the beginning of "BUSh" makes up "Mabus."

33. Many False Christs and False Prophets...
"Showing signs and wonders to deceive the very elect, if possible..." The anti-Christ will have the "answers" to peace, as a way to deceive people.
I agree * is "an" anti-Christ, but Rev. 13 makes me consider the possibility that "THE" anti-Christ could be a clone. I would not be the least bit surprised if it was Hitler's clone, since there is such a similar spirit of deceit, hatred, violence, racism, greed, and murder permeating the planet, along with the fact that Hitler was involved in human cloning.
"You will know them by their fruits", and "the Fruit of The Holy Spirit is Love, Peace, Joy, Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Patience, and Self-Control".
Anyone ever see any of those qualities in Bush? Neither have I.

36. Hmm, What gives you the idea that I'm a police officer?
A lot of my family are police officers but I'm an electrician. Not too many cops are going to list marijuana as a hobby. Heh.

I'm aware that there are an awful lot of bad people out there, I've seen pictures and heard the first hand stories but I do not attribute their behavior to a mythical being of personified evil. I apologize if you feel insulted by my flippant comment, that was not my intention.

...Led me to believe that you were a cop. (You must have learned a lot from your family). I was not insulted by your post, but thank you for the apology. I was trying to point out that if there were no satan or anti-Christ, there would be no evil on earth.
That's just my opinion, based upon my life's experiences and research...
