With TS now a moot point , W Jeb will now run to shore up fundie support.
With a series of extremist speeches waving the bloody shirt.

My thesis is this:

1) While people disagree exactly where and when to cease support, almost nobody buys the fundie position that all life, no matter what, is to be preserved at all costs to the person regardless of her own wishes.

2) W. and Jeb and Santorum et al. have been working hard to have their cake withe the fundies while not scaring all the normal people. They make their rhetoric sound like they believed in this extreme position while not making any practical changes in the current law, eg, making an exception for Terri Sciavo and only Terri Schiavo, making it only procedural, failing to back law requiring feeding tubes, all while stating that we "have to err on the side of life" and "life itself is sacred".

3) W. and Jeb were caught when the fundies demanded they actually do something commensurate with their extreme rhetoric to "save Terri". Suddenly W. becomes a believer in federalism and Jeb becomes a man with respect for law and courts, trying hard to make excuses that satisfy the fundies.

4) With TS's death, there isn't any chance of being required to DO anything. Now they can give the right wing a bunch of pretty speeches without any fear that they will be called on their hypocrisy.

So Jeb and W are going to give the fundies their speeches today. Free to be hypocrites.

1. The Evangs Didn't Get What They Wanted
The big lesson for the Evangs is that when the going got tough the Bush brothers folded faster than a gin joint gambler with a bad hand. The Bushes caved in and allowed the rule of law to take precedence over the burning sense of outraged moralism the Fundies have been nursing as of late, and for them that is an offense to God.

And abortion is still legal.

The great irony here is the Bush political machine let these people out of their box, and now face the very real prospect that the Fundamentalists are about to turn on what they perceive to be a duplicitous GOP.

Provide a second, even bigger lie.

So the funides are thinking about turning on a duplicitous GOP. They think that Bush and Jeb just tell them what they want to hear and have no intention of doing much.

So the response from Bush and Jeb will not be to act, but to tell an even bigger tale, make even more extreme rhetoric. The solution to being caught in a lie is to tell a bigger lie.

So there will be a huge burst of rhetoric about something really, really dramically radical---- to be done in the very distant future after all those democrats are voted out of office and the supreme court changed and fundies work ANOTHER seven years for the GOP.
