1. Check out the AARP commercial...it's nuclear.
Check it out. This is just devastating and they're spending 3 x's as much as all the Republican proponents in the next three weeks on TV ads.

8. The AARP commercial is pretty funny, but...
I wish they had instead had put forward a feasible plan for insuring Social Security's financial stability.

Yes, it is great they point out the absurdity of Shrub's Social Security Scare Scam, but if they want to counter the GOP ad I think an alternative, realistic plan should be part of the ad.

9. Interesting point.
One view point advanced is -- just let Bush twist, lose and then present a fix. The other is yours. I agree with you. Just spank the guy, let him feel the lash of criticism and superior alternatives.

2. AARP is running an ad that shows a leaky faucet;
it says if your faucet leaks, don't tear down the house to fix it.

3. It's time the Dems stopped allowing the Repubs to frame the debates
Edited on Thu Mar-31-05 02:16 AM by Whoa_Nelly
In that SS commercial, it makes the Dems appear to not have any input into the the BushCo "need" to force a change in SS, when in actuality, the Dems should be standing up and speaking loudly and clearly that there is no friggin' "crisis".

Don't you find it extremely unusual that there is a partisan major TV commercial during a non-election year? To the best of my recollection, this has never happened in the past. The Repubs are going to continue framing the debates and creating divisiveness and fracturing among as many groups of Americans as possible. The creation of chaos throws the average Jane and Joe into an emotional tailspin. And that IS how people are passively coerced into forming opinions, especially regarding politicians and political parties, by appealing to their emotions.

5. In CA, we're being taken hostage with "Arnie" commercials.
Thankfully, the teachers and nurses are fighting back with commercials of their own.

7. Yeah. Those Arnie ads. Wall to wall.
You can't watch the goddamn news without seeing five or ten of them, often the same one over and over, with Rove's orange-tinted Trojan horse popping up in the end to spout a quick homily about "leadership" with that charming Nazi accent of his. I'd really like to know how much money the GOP is spending on that agitprop.
