6. Considering that SoCAL was sprayed with malathion a lot during the 90s

because of that pesky fruit fly--AND, we were told at the time it wasn't dangerous to humans, although we were told to bring our pets inside and not let them out during spraying--this plot doesn't sound all dangerous, if it really was planned.

Good for Career Prole on getting all the "hedging" language used in the article itself.
