Who can you stick up for and believe in ?
Am I wrong in thinking the real trouble we face is about not having jobs and a war economy based government that does not represent 95 % of the people in this country ? Yes I am mad at Jesse Jackson for trying to heel some wrong things and having a big ego. From my cluttered little perspective the moral issue is about a country that has the choice of a Mc job
or a job that hurts humanity and progress but brings in big money.
If all we have is t.v. and toys while we huddle cold and hungry
outside of the palaces we can't deal with religion, abortion, laws,
human rights and education. We will have no equality without jobs and a country that produces more than we consume.
All I see is rich people and poor people getting poorer
afraid to deal with the big problem. If the republicans want to call the idea of having a middle class with freedoms and social services socialism or communinism it is a lie and they have pushed it on an unsuspecting public.I will fight and probably die for my kids and you here that are young to have a better life than what is in store for you under this bunch of greedy pigs that have stolen a dream of freedom.
Bring them on because they are killing us slowly .I am tired of seeing the bad guys and bullys win for the last 30 years,it doesn't have to be this way if we stop the bull shit and stand up to them.

1. Good analogy
Sad, but, filled with a lot of meaning. I'm old and have a perspective of many years, and in those years I have been Dem. & Rep. and never have I felt things were as serious as they are now. I feel good that my grandchildren seem to be thinking kids (of course they a Dems.!) and hopefully I had something to do with it. Talking to people is important. Some totally cut you off or you realize no matter what you say they don't get it. True, if the working people are short sheeted the rest of the economy will crumble eventually. Trickle down is ridiculous, it goes from the bottom up. We all buy Puffs if we can afford it. Clinton and other Dems proved that with their leadership.

2. The agism here has finally got me.
36 odd years ago I worked with Jesse Jackson,John Kerry and a few more people that are my age.life was good but there was a war that made no sence except for the profiteers. The closet stil held too many issues, when the war ended the issues where beginning to be dealt with, progress was being made slowly. The seeds of neocon corporatism were showing up but we were too entertained to notice.
I am not sorry that I am 57 years old even though I get the feeling that patience and some wisdom are not important here.

Well boys & girls you have 400 t.v. stations and lots of electronics made by slaves, the rate things are going you are going to be slaves too.The people on DU are the positive future for this country and world, you are out gunned by the bullys so if people have to die like in Ohio it should be us old farts who had a few good years compared to the shitty life of today.
Thats the difference now,if your parents and familly are repukes walk away from them because they don't care because they never grew up.
so bye bye now from another geezer.
