Anti-Democrats ad regarding Social Security!!
I just saw an ad slamming Democrats for not having "ideas" on Social Security. Of course, it was a Democratic idea in the first place, and the current Democratic idea is to save it and fund it, even if it means (gasp!) raising the top limit of income subject to the tax.

This stupid ad asked if you could think of any ideas from Democrats, and showed a stopwatch. Are they so out of ideas they're going to start listening to Democrats now??

Are the Democrats responding to this ad? Have you seen it? And, who paid for it? (I was picking my jaw up off the floor at the end and missed that part.)

2. Listening to Laura Flanders right now
on this very subject.

She mentioned that if we roll back *'s tax cuts, we'll easily be able to pay the benefits.

3. I saw the ad also.
Bush says there is a crisis. He should come up with solution. Since the crisis is manufactured and a lie (like the WMDs in Iraq) no solution is needed.
There is a problem but not a crisis

4. The ad uses the phrase "solve Social Security"
This is a blatant meme. It baldly equates Social Security itself to a problem. There's no limit to the depths of corruption and deceit to which these people will stoop.

8. Social Security isn't a pension plan
It's an insurance against old age poverty.

9. You like the Chimp's so-called "PLAN?"
So, trillions of dollars more debt for the transition is okay, even if the interest on it wipes out any possible gains you'd have?

And the stock market is a safety net... And those of us who paid in all our lives for our parents' generation can just retire even older and with lower benefits, right? Meanwhile, our kids will have, what exactly?? Enormous debt.

This system is not going to "fail soon." You want to talk about something that will, talk about MEDICARE. You want to talk about another failure, talk about everything George W. Bush ever did.

11. It's been playin' here in Ohio all month
It's not hard to come up with three Dem sponsered solutions in the ten seconds the stopwatch runs.

My favorite is raising the salary level on SS deductions.

Or...since employers match the contributions dollar for dollar, end the republican ban on domestic hiring.......put America back to work.

This commercial is based on the fact that no Democrats can be heard in the Republican echo chamber of catch phrases and sound bites.

12. I saw it again and tried to fit the plans into the stopwatch time allotted
I think that'd make a great counter-response ad!!
