How hysterical can the Republicans get over Schiavo?
Cal Thomas has a column in which he compares Terri Schiavo to Rosa Parks and Alexandr Solzhenitsyn:

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/calthomas/ct20050321.shtml

And Pat Buchanan is comparing the "execution" of Terri Schiavo to Auschwitz.

Good God Almighty! How fucking hysterical can they get?

1. They get THIS hysterical:
http://www.petitiononline.com/ijg520/petition.html

(Note: there are disruptors posting "signatures" there, too, as you will see.)

It's alternately amusing and disturbing.

24. posted this on petition
"The returning good sense of our country threatens abortion to their hopes, & the clergy believe that any portion of power confided to me, will be exerted in opposition to their schemes. And they believe rightly; for I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man."

2. Coming from Buchanan that's funny
Pat has made comments at different times about how the US should not have attacked Nazi Germany, because they never attacked the US.

The problem is that all the 'family secrets' somehow got loose and mixed up the Bible with Theocracy for Dummies.

11. The screeching of the fundies is starting to resemble the same
level of the segregationists during school integration, imo, so it is not impossible that the same level of crisis couldn't occur in having the federal government having to act to ensure the law is followed in the face of politicians and their 'followers' trying to subvert it.

12. It's not how hysterical THEY are, it's how hysterical they can get
the PUBLIC.

They want to complete their overthrow of democracy and install a theocratic fascist dictatorship. If they can whip up enough public support, they can get the citizens of the country to, in effect, build their own prison and lock themselves inside it so they feel safe from all the invented "enemies."

I think you're missing the point by focussing in the wrong place. They ARE whipping up a lot of emotional frenzy, despite what the polls are saying. They want ammunition to continue their barrage of "test cases" with the goal of destoying the authority of the judicial branch of the US government.

15. so cal thomas is vs abortions for teenage victims of incest
That's what he seems to be saying...that because people argued abortions should be available to teenage girls impregnated by their drunken fathers, we started down the slope to "abortion on demand". Cal have any daughters???

22. America is dying of religiosity disease. It has truly become a
major epidemic. Either a cure is found or most of us will die whether we have the disease or not. Their sickness will kill innocent healthy people.
