Andy Card for Massachusetts Governor?

Don't laugh.

Consider if Romney is unre-electable (is that a word), who would the rethugs run? Well, I suppose they could import Keyes. But a more likely candidate would be *'s chief of staff homeboy Andy Card.

Here's the Zogby poll question that got me thinking....

If the election for governor were held today and the candidates were Democrat Deval Patrick and Republican Andy Card for whom would you vote?

8. Boston Herald floated that a couple of weeks ago

when the speculations about Romney not running for reelection started again.

They probably think that this would give the race a higher profile than with Kerry Hailey.

if he couldn't even win his own parties primary for governor.

It's more likely he will watch this new Zogby and his own polls. If he shows weak against any of the likely Dems, he'll announce he has another opportunity. Probably get appointed as Amabassador to Canada like his 2 predecessors, or such.

Only then would Card step in.
