Bush blasts AZ border monitoring group as "vigilantes", sides with Fox
on not enforcing illegal immigration laws. Good grief DUers WAKE UP ! The GOP is the party demanding lower wages by importing all the immigrants, legal or illegal, that can physically cross that border.

Already over half of the US labor force growth since 2000 is from immigrants according to Norteastern University

http://www.nupr.neu.edu/01-04/immigration_jan.html

The 'globalizationista' multinational corporations are also quietly trying to sneak past CAFTA at the same time in order to further the outsourcing of US jobs.

Bush budgets only 200 border patrol when he knows full well that around 2000 are needed to do the job. Arizona residents should vote Democratic in the 2006 and 2008 elections, that is unless the Democrats weeny out like the Kerry campaign did by stopping even mentioning the outsourcing of jobs...

It is STILL an issue.

1. The grassroots Democrats
know this is a winning issue, but for whatever reason (fears of being demonized as racist and xenophobic being primary among them) will never ride the winning horse here.

Both parties in overwhelming majorities (and almost unanimously at the leadership level) are sworn to erase the border between the U.S. and Mexico (and Canada also, but Canada may have a thing or two to say about that since so many of US want to leave here now).

2. So much for his concern about our Homeland Security
in the meantime, the schmuck sits there and laughs at the world.

3. I saw this on the CNN Lou Dobbs hour and almost blew a gasket
because I find myself agreeing with R-Bob Tancredo of Colorado on this. All the while the program is on they kept mentioning how Al Qaeda was planning on using the porous Mexican border to sneak people across.

Heck, they can probably get legal H1B or H2B or L1 visas that seem to be given away like confetti. The fraud-ridden programs are supposed to keep US workers from being 'displaced' but that's what has been happening anyway.

Bush just lost SOOOOOOOO much support from his 'base' by doing this it isn't even funny.

4. Democrats need to come out strong for enforcement of
our laws. This is a primary OBLIGATION of the presidency. Protect our borders. The dems will fuck this opportunity up as per usual -even if its the RIGHT thing to do.

You are correct EVDebs.

5. Thanks. And I'm wondering how Ohio feels with CAFTA coming
to repay them for electing the "Shrub". CAFTA will increase the velocity of that 'giant sucking sound' of jobs going south...And the Bush administration wants it that way.

What do you tell someone in Ohio ? What do Dems/progressives tell them ?
