I'm going to party with Democrats!

This thread was inspired by Lydia Leftcoast, who observed on another thread that Americans are too isolated from each other to organize a nationwide strike for workers rights. I agree; we rarely interact with our neighbors, don't even know their names in many cases, spend hours in our cars commuting, and don't even know who to trust in our own communities.

Well, my local Dem Party is hosting a community party next month with a petting zoo, beer and wine, train rides, music, etc. at a local park. Kids are welcome. We have even managed to persuade some local dignitaries to attend (the biggest name so far is our Representative in Congress).

We're doing our part to get people involved, and feeling like they belong. This should be happening all over our country. Is it happening where you live? :toast: :party:
