On C-SPAN 2, ACLU joins Bob Barr, Paul Weyrich, Grover Norquist

and other conservatives to criticize the Patriot Act, or parts of it, as in violation of civil liberties. It's rather strange to see them on the same side. Perhaps the Democratic Party should join these "conservatives" on this issue since most Democrats see fault with the Patriot Act, I think? Or do most of them agree with Bush on the Patriot Act? It seems like an ideal coalition to put pressure on the radicals in the White House?

I find it interesting that a group of prominent conservatives has banded together to challenge certain provisions of the Patriot Act.

If push comes to shove, even if they are well intentioned, can these leopards change their spots? No. More importantly they have never wanted to play fair before, now they want to? WHy? edit- it isn't about 'joining', but standing up for what is right. If they (Barr & co.) agree, fine. It puts all the more pressure on the ruling fascists.
