Corzine: Cheney for SocSec is like Saddam for democracy
snip>
As a sign of how politically charged the issue has become, Sen. Jon Corzine, D-N.J., a leading opponent of Bush's plan, told reporters Monday that Cheney had "a virtual career of disdain for Social Security" and compared his appearances to sending Saddam Hussein to campaign for democracy in Iraq.

That provoked an angry retort from Republican chairman Ken Mehlman.

"Comparing the vice president to a tyrannical despot who murdered thousands of his own people is rhetoric you would expect to hear from (documentary movie maker) Michael Moore but not a United States senator," Mehlman said.

1. Dems need to stand up for each other
Corzine should point out that Michael Moore told more truth to the American people in two hours than Bush and Cheney have in five years.

3. Corzine probably has no idea Mehlman made the remark
unless he's reading every reporter that covers him.

8. Doesn't have to be Corzine
Any Dem of note would do. Corzine already spoke out hard. He deserves some cover from another. That's my point.

2. I'm loving this.
Byrd shows parallels between Hitler and Shrub. Now Corzine is comparing Cheney to Saddam Hussein. And the protests...I love to hear Bush is being protested everywhere he goes.

"Comparing the vice president to a tyrannical despot who murdered thousands of his own people..."

...as opposed to a tyrannical despot who will kill anyone, except his own people...and who knows...there have been some mysterious journalist "suicides."

Oh, wait a minute--my mistake. The Repukes were comparing Max Cleland, Tom Daschle, et al., to Osama, not Saddam. One must remember the subtle distinctions.

   ...

LIKE HELL!! :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: FUCK YOUR MOMMA AND YOUR GRANDMOMMA TOO, MEHLMAN, YA SLIMY POS!!! AND GO, CORZINE!!!

:grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

I feel much better now. B-)

He knows the difference between a direct comparison and a metaphor; he's just counting on the clueless masses not knowing.

Go Corzine! Damn. Is there any way I can have him as my Governor and Still have him as my Senator? I know, I can't. :grr:

...of his own people -- by sending them to fight and die Iraq and Afghanistan.

I'd say that Sen. Corzine has apparently struck a nerve.

It's too bad this country isn't favorable to rich northeasterners at the moment. He'd make a great POTUS.

14. TV commercials against Daschle featured Saddam and OBL.
Didn't they? And wasn't Cleland also compared to Saddam? What party came up with those classy ads?

let the Repubs respond. Then they need to say it again. That is the way the Repubs have done it for twenty years. Respond, weakness. Repeat, strength.

Sen. Corzine is right--I wish I'd thought of an analogy that good. Ken Mehlman can go screw himself.

your nutsack or somethin'?

Did you just throw some shit at Corzine, only to have him catch it in midair and send it boomeranging right back?

Crybaby.

murdered thousands of his own people - in the name of enlarging his privatized account. I don't see why we have to drag social security into it.
