WASHINGTON, March 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Following is a release from the Office of House Speaker Dennis Hastert:

Announcer Intro:

House Republicans have been touting their accomplishments in the two and a half months since they convened the 109th Congress.

Speaker Sound Bites:

-- This is House Speaker Denny Hastert.

-- The House Republicans have made a great deal of progress in the first 80 days of the 109th Congress. It's like the old movie "Around the World in 80 Days." What the Congress has done, we've worked to end over-taxation, litigation and regulation.

-- We've passed legislation that limits lawsuit abuse, ensuring that compensation rightfully goes to victims and not to predatory trail attorneys.

-- Even though our economy has created over three million jobs in the last year and a half the hard reality is that people are still looking for work. To make sure displaced workers are well qualified for the jobs that remain, we've passed legislation that ends barriers to job training.

-- Lastly, we've passed a budget that puts Federal agencies on notice that they will be held accountable for the use of taxpayer's dollars. It fully funds our Nation's priorities while keeping our schedule, the plan to cut the deficit in half in five years.

-- I believe this budget is going to continue growing our economy.

-- We passed a responsible transportation bill that will keep our people and products moving. And this week we passed a supplemental spending bill that funds our troops fighting in the War on Terror.

-- Democrats on the other hand have become the party of 'NO'. They have no ideas, no substance and no accomplishments. House Republicans won't take no for an answer. We're going to continue working hard to strengthen Social Security and make our tax codes simple and fair.

Announcer Tag:

Over the Easter break, House Republicans are holding various events across the country. They're talking about what they've done, while promoting their plan to strengthen Social Security with personal accounts.

1. Oh yeah? Have they quit spending money and balanced the budget?
Defeated efforts to cut back on benefits for veterans?

Fully funded NCLB?

Investigated Halliburton and Cheney?

Rolled back tax cuts we clearly cannot afford?

4. Yay...! I'll start on "Republican accomplishments."
They opposed civil rights in the 1960's, including integration.

Who's next?
