Here's hoping the public sees through this like they have on SS. If National Guard recruiting is any indicator-they have.

3. What a tool.
He uses congress' own previous violation of states' rights -- tort reform -- to justify this one. It's OK because they say it is. This case is fraught with ironies, not the least of which is that the Republicans used to be the big supporteres of states' rights. But then, if a state does something they don't like (Bush v. Gore; medical marijuana laws), it's all out the window. States have the right to do only that which pleases the GOP.

2. Mel. Martiinez, FL Sen, Rep. just said they agreed on a voice vote-meaning
there will be no roll call--a handful-or whoever shows up can pass the Terri S. bill.
So, the Dems agreed to this. Maybe it is ok?? they do not have to put themslves on the spot for the inevitable.

5. There is a story how in Poland during the waning days of Communism
There is a story how in Poland during the waning days of Communism, the people would protest the propaganda on state/party run television and take a walk during the evening news in order to demonstrate they weren't watching it.

Whole communities would be out walking at 6 pm.

I think I need to stretch my legs.
