I actually felt stupid for posing the question because as soon as I did I discovered the answer in other threads. I knew about the whole ANWR vote just not the ammendment and Cantwell specifically.

I so understand the yelling. So pissed off. It's really disgusting.

2. The amendment removes language in

the FY 2006 Budget allowing oil drilling in Alaska. Rejecting this means the language will NOT be removed and drilling WILL be allowed.

6. How's this for an Idea...

When there's a leak or accident in ANWAR, we send an oil-coated feather to everyone who voted down the amendment.

Drilling there will do so very little for us now... or even five years from now.

This is just a plum for oil companies.

9. I'm confused, how come we still have this article on CNN

and an earlier thread that indicated that Barbara Boxer's ammendment stripping ANWR from the budget passed:

and now we have threads all over the pace that Cantwell's ammendment doing basically the same thing failed. What's going on? Am I missing something?
