The Repubs are falling apart right before our eyes....
They are panicking like I have never seen before. Their eyes are bulging and there doesn't seem to be any "oxygen in the room". They see a train wreck coming fast. They feel the ground vibrating under their feet. They hear that long lonesome whistle calling their names. There is no one else to blame. They stand alone and they are fearful. They are desperate, like a mad dog backed into a corner. It's coming around folks and they know it.

2. I'll believe it when it happens.
There have been too many things that have happened in this administration which would have taken down any other president.

I hold out very little hope that anything will ever stick to them.

6. But this time he wants
congress to hang out there with him on some very unpopular things like Social Security, ANWR, the budget cuts. They don't want to lose their jobs. Those tax cuts and patriotic votes were easy these votes they are hearing about at home. Just trying to be hopeful.

15. Why should they care? The powers that be control the voting machines.
Even if 60% of the Repub constituency were to bolt, the "polls" and "voting" results would never reveal this fact. Oh, and don't count on our "free press" to enlighten anyone. I think the only hope we have is to target all areas without computerized voting machines. We also need to be pumping mega bucks into throwing out Repubs in the Northeast. There's enough of them to possibly give us back the Senate, especially if we can grab a few other seats in the Northwest and maybe Midwest.

the divisions between blue and red states will be enough to eliminate all or most of the Congressional seats held by Republicans in blue states

9. I sure hope so. I caught Rollerball on the teevee last night and it's
like the script was used for the neo-con playbook. Much scarier than when I was a kid and thought it was just a cool "sci-fi new wave sports flick set in the future" movie. Watch it if you get a chance it is exactly the kind of "society" these fucks are trying to set up, only it appears easier to put to film than to make a reality, so far anyways.

21. If they are falling apart...
...how is it that they keep winning?

So far this year alone the Republicans in Congress have passed or are about to pass legislation that had been stalled for years - Bankruptcy Reform, Tort Reform, now drilling in the ANWR? And that is just for starters. Additionally, they are likely to use the nuclear option and end any ability we have to stop the far most extreme rightwing judicial nominations - and they will get away with it too.

Bush seems to be getting just about everything he wants as well. Sure, he appears bogged down on the Social Security issue, but he is pretty much getting almost everything else his way. I am beginning to think the Social Security issue was just a smoke screen anyway. Look at all the stuff they are sneaking under the radar while everyone focuses on "private accounts".

I dunno, if the Republicans are having this much success and it is considered "falling apart right before our eyes", I'd hate to see what happens when things are going well for them.

I wish we were falling apart like they are, maybe we'd get a victory now and again instead of losing on all of these critical issues.

24. WHY didn't one of reporters mention Bankruptcy Reform
when they had a chance to ask Bush about it today? They asked about Social Security, Iraq, Gay Marriage...etc... but not Benkruptcy Reform. One reporter even asked Bush about if the government was controlling the media and if it was ethnic practice...

23. All the shilling for Bush in the media reveals his weakness
Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 02:55 PM by iconoclastNYC
The press does risk loosing credibility by having to shill so much for Bush. Trust me the RNC would much rather not have to be so blatent at using the press to pump up Bushs' approval. The White House PR operation is having to innovate out of neccesity: armstrong, gannon.

And this is good news because by being so blatent about it, they are setting off the American people's bullshit detectors. People are slowly waking up and seeing that the press is feeding the American People nothing but propoganda.

It is up to the left to steer them to better outlets for news and oppinion, and i think this is happening too.

I wish there was a metric that shows a composite of left wing media reader/viewership.

I think their next move is to take all of Californias electoral votes illegally of course and they can become a permanent majority. Then public opion won't matter anymore.
