Save Alaska's Oil (ANWR) For Our Grandchildren. After We've Kicked

our out of control Oil Habit.

If we open it up NOW, it'll be gone in less than a year.

We need to save that oil for future generations.

How is THAT for reframing the debate. :)

1. Opening ANWR does nothing but line pockets.

Their big argument for drilling in ANWR is to reduce our dependece on M.E. oil and help cut prices.

It would do neither.

Oil prices are set on the world market, and there isn't enough oil there to affect the price by glutting the market or reduce or dependece on foreign oil.

What WILL help? A simple increase in the minimum CAFE economy standards by a mere 2mpg.

3. That's a good frame

I would also frame the economic value of wilderness.

Eco-tourism. Fishing. Hunting. Outfitters that take people into the wilderness.

As time goes on, the value of wilderness will only increase exponentially.
