Edited on Wed Mar-16-05 09:51 AM by Dread Pirate KR Read
----------------------------------------------

Today, the Senate will vote on an amendment by Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) to remove the Arctic drilling provision from the budget. This is the last line of defense against this sinister attack on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

What you can and MUST do NOW !

Tell the Senate to support the Cantwell amendment.

If you live in one of the following states that has a Republican Senator opposed to Arctic Refuge Oil Development, call and insist that they vote for the Cantwell Amendment to the Budget Bill and lobby their colleagues to do so:

Sen. Olympia Snowe - Maine (202) 224-5344
Sen. Susan Collins - Maine (202) 224-2523
Sen. Lincoln Chaffee - Rhode Island (202) 224-2921

Sen. Mike Dewine - Ohio (202) 224-2315
Sen. John McCain - Arizona (202) 224-2235

Several other senators have been identified as possible swing votes. If you live in one of the following states, please call immediately and urge them to vote for the Cantwell Amendment to the Budget Bill.

- he's a lifelong flip flopper! He has said he won't support drilling but we won't believe him til we see that he has voted that way.

edit: I neglected to mention Norm voted just this week to gut Social Security benefits. . .
